I've been seeing Dr. Gent every 3 months for 10 years now for my thyroid disease. He's the most wonderful doctor! He's patient, kind, and a remarkable listener. Dr. Gent cares about the whole patient and takes all of you into consideration - your sleep habits, diet, physical activity, stress levels, etc. He treats the whole person, not just the thyroid. Only once did I wait more than a few minutes after arriving for my appt. He had an emergency and the staff let me know in case I wanted to reschedule. I had a book to read with me and so waited. It was maybe 35-40 min before he was able to see me but I didn't mind because it's so rare for him to be late. I appreciated the staff giving me a heads up though. I saw the other reviews about his wife and was surprised. I've had nothing but pleasant experiences with her and the rest of the staff. I love to chat with them after my appt is over. I once missed an appt because I completely forgot about it and the call wasn't nasty at all. I had to pay the miss appt fee but I knew about it because they told me when I first came there, its in the paperwork you fill out then and every year after, and there are signs in the office reminding you of it. Same for lab work. There are signs and they remind you every time you go to get it done at least 2 weeks before your next appointment. If not, they won't get the results in time and will need to change your appt. If you give them enough notice, they can put another patient in your time slot. If not, the slot goes empty and that's lost money for them. One time, I waited too long and called them 10 days before my appt. They happily bumped it two weeks out and thanked me for giving them advanced notice.

I went for first visit this morning. While sitting & filling out paperwork, a man came in with a urine sample. Instead of bringing him to a place where no one could listen, the nurse spoke within 2 ft from me. She held the urine bag and swung it by her side as she spoke to the man who said he had blood in his urine. I was scared that his urine sample would leak on me. Not going there ever again!

Almost two years ago I made the decision to take my health seriously and came to Dr. Gent on recommendation of another patient. I feel better than I have in ten years! Dr. Gent has treated my Hashimoto's with a "whole body" approach that has resolved most of the lingering symptoms other Doctor's ignored or ruled inconsequential. I HIGHLY recommend this practice!
