Lov Ley Curls Studio has been a dream come true for me, Im so grateful for Leyla!! Prior to coming to Lov Ley Curls, I didnt know much about my natural hair and I didnt know anything about how to do a wash and go. I had tried soo many different products and methods, but to no avail. I would wear braids, wigs, and weaves on a constant basis. I decided that I was too busy to learn (going straight from undergrad to law school to working full time). However, after turning 30 and having the opportunity to work fully remote, I decided to take the time to actually learn about my hair. At that time, I identified that I didnt know about my hair because my mom didnt know about hair, because she never learned herself and she couldnt teach what she didnt know. I also realized that my ignorance about my natural hair created a negative relationship with my hair and an unhealthy attachment to braids, wigs, and weave. Even with the negative relationship with my hair, I was still cautious about who I let touch my hair. I did a lot of research and found Leyla! I chose Lov Ley Curls because Leyla has an exceptionally high rating and excellent reviews, so I decided to give it a try! I thoroughly read through the website. As an attorney, I appreciated the thoroughness of Leylas website; she lists all of her policies and expectations online in a way thats palatable and easy-to-read if you take the time to do so. It provides the client with the ability to know whether she is a good fit for them prior to booking. Sure, the reviews were excellent but I still wasnt completely sold until my consultation because I hadnt been successful in wash and gos before. After meeting Leyla, I immediately knew this would be a great experience for me (and, again, I am picky about who I let in my hair). Leyla came to the consultation fully prepared; she taught me so much about my hair just during the consultation. In addition to her knowledge and experience, Leyla is genuinely the sweetest person Ive met. Shes honest, ethical, and personable. Ive been a client of Lov Ley Curls for a year now and in the last year Ive learned so much about my hair. Also, while Ive always considered myself a pretty confident person, learning about my hair with Leyla has unlocked a new level of confidence and appreciation for me in my natural state. I have 2 nieces and I look forward to teaching them what I know about natural hair in order to break this generational curse in my family of ignorance about our beautiful natural hair turning into resentment. Lov Ley Curls is not for the lazy and uncommitted. You have to do the work to see the progress; but you will definitely see and love the results!!
