The officer did not show up for our court time. We were told we could come back at another time after taking off 2 days of work in order to get my son to court for going 3 mph over the speed limit. How am I sure he was going 3 mph over the speed limit? I was sitting next to him! So we could join the driver improvement program wasting 2 weekends of our lives or come back when rescheduled. We chose to do the driver improvement program to find that no one knows when it is or where, but I can call back the day we are supposed to be there.

My 17 year old was pulled over for having a brake light out. Its 10am, not speeding, no attitude, no idea that the light was out, and said her police officer father would fix it right away. Nope. She received a $91 ticket because a $3 bulb was out ($30 fine and $61 court cost). Since she is a juvenile, if we chose to go to court a parent must be present. I can't take the day off for $91. Why is there a processing and handling fee? Isn't that why I pay county taxes? If any of the officers I work with gave a brake light ticket, they would be laughed at and told what a D**k they were. FYI to the LCS Deputy, a good cop would pull over for a brake light and see what else there is...DUI? Drugs? Suspended license? etc. Brake lights ONLY get Warning Tickets. It balancing community relations, safety, and police work all in one.
