This place has the worst juju, I had so many panic attacks in the time I lived here. The layout of our apartment was so bad it made it feel extra tiny and closed off, very not cozy or homey at all. Very bad energy. Would not recommend

Great place to live and super close to just about everything. Shops loads of food and the farmers market absolutely genius.

Having stayed there for 8 months, Horoball Maintenance never answers phone calls and of course, knowing that you have extra charges on your account, they just randomly add them out of nowhere to yours once you contact them by replying to their system error, wastes my time every day. I literally walked out of my apartment every morning, closing my nose and watching the leasing office staff smoking cigarettes and laughing during management time without a care in the world. This is a place I would not recommend living in.

Living here was great, the location was excellent and in walking distance to JMU. However, everything you read about them keeping your deposit unfairly is true. I took these warnings to heart and took all precautions not to be screwed. I cleaned it to a spotless condition and no damages were created by me. I arranged for them to inspect before my lease was up so that I could correct anything myself, and not be charged. They did not inform me of anything that needed remediation within that time frame. Yet despite all that, they only wanted to give me $183 back of my deposit. Claiming that normal wear and tear (of which was hardly anything, just a minor scruff on a wall and a couple push pin holes that in the manual say are allowed) which I couldve fixed all of these if they had told me. They also tried to charge me for blinds that I never damaged. The smoke detector also came off the wall during Christmas break and they tried to cause me of tampering and disconnecting it when I couldnt even reach it and I wasnt even there. Overall you will probably enjoy living here but consider your deposit gone and taken.

This is a relatively newly renovated apartment complex and my daughter lived here for several years while going to James Madison University. All in all great experience, not too pricey, and well maintained as far as her apartment was concerned. They have a gym and a lot of coffeex food, bike shops, and other student friendly stores close by. It's also a very convenient location to both downtown and to the JMU campus (around a 15-20 min walk to center of campus). The biggest problem is with visitor parking,... basically there is none. The only actually marked visor parking spaces are on a side street & are 15-30 minute spots for unloading only. For anything longer term you basically roll the dice hoping that wherever you park you don't get towed. The Matchbox rental agency that runs this place needs to figure out some agreements with the business in the area because this is a real problem.
