Copper Cove Golf Club

I love this golf course. This is a stunning golf course on smith mountain lake. I played in December and March so I have not even seen it in season yet, but the fairways and greens were in great condition. Its a challenging course with lots of unexpected turns and elevation changes that can challenge even the most seasoned players. I scored a few pars, but mostly struggled. I cant wait to get back out there and get more acquainted with this course and break 90. Highly recommend!

We played 3/8 and the course was terrible. Trees down everywhere, torn up tee boxes, ripped up cart paths, and I thought the carts were going to break down every time we hit the gas. The folks running the place ran the course like it was a PGA event except there were minimal people there. Multiple responses of the owner wont allow that. This was not a relaxing, fun trip.

Played yesterday for first time in 3 years. Had heard a number of negative comments about the course prior to playing. I found the course to be okay but definitely has a lack of overall maintenance compared to last time I played. Fairways and greens were not to bad but the rough was so tall if you got into it forget about finding your ball. The traps need a major overhaul and on #3 fairway there is a hole 6 feet wide and 3 feet deep. I would not play there again at $50 until improvements are made.

I enjoy this course. Its challenging enough to keep me interested. The staff are always great and the property well kept.
