Long story short, my husband and I planned a last minute elopement/micro wedding. We could not have a makeup artist or hair at the venue. We decided to come to ulta because of the availability and the ease in having both done at one place, on top of the fact that we only scheduled this wedding 2 weeks in advance. We were scheduled for 2 formal makeup applications and 2 hair styling appointments.
I have hardly any complaints with my makeup aside from the fact that I asked for a gold Smokey eye and instead got gold and pink. However, my sister (orange pjs) had her eyebrows filled entirely too dark and too thick. We sent pictures to friends and everyone thought it was a silly Snapchat filter. Her eyeshadow was also entirely too dark and an unflattering shade of orange (she did not request this). She wiped her entire face of makeup off before the ceremony.
We both had hair styling appointments also scheduled. I was informed when scheduling that only straightening and curling could be done. I came in only expecting this. I feel like my sister's (orange pjs) styling" looks like she just rolled out of bed. My hair is a completely different story. I understand I have curly hair but my roots were not even properly straightened and essentially teased to a horrendous height. The waves were falling before I even left the store. My friends also commented on this and said it look like I went through a wind tunnel after having my hair done. I had to go home straighten and recurl hair, as well as complete a half updo. This put us behind schedule for pictures and vows
I regret not mentioning all of this when I was there. However, with multiple requests for the stylist to fix my hair. We were running out of time and quickly left the store. I honestly regret paying for it and it was the most stressful part about my big day.
I am hoping with this review to save anybody in the future, for any type of formal event, to avoid this catastrophe.
