My daughter has been going to Kumon Glen Allen center location for over 6 years now. We started with the Math program. Mrs Kala, the center owner was very helpful from the very start - the assessment, goals set each year, the extra guidance she provides when my daughter needs it. We added the reading program 2 years ago. What I love with Kumon is that it is not a tutorial but rather a program that follows a path that establishes a good study habit and the knowledge foundation to help my daughter excel at her school, her classes and other interests now through the future. We love the Glen Allen Center location, the owner/director Mrs Kala and all her staff. They are all very helpful, very patient, and friendly to us.

We started our son at Kumon in January of 2023. We enrolled him because he was falling significantly behind in reading/writing which required a number of interventions at school over the past two school years. As much as the interventions helped, he was still below level. After months of steady work and progress in the Kumon program, his academic achievements have been amazing. Our son started off the new school year surpassing his PALS spelling assessment benchmark and doing so well that he no longer qualified for academic interventions. A few weeks ago, he finished up his second marking period and received an A in Writing. In addition to reading/writing, Kumon is teaching our son how to take his time, focus, and work independently. Were very glad we chose this program and highly recommend the tutors at this location.

We received word that our son wasnt demonstrating reading comprehension by his first grade teacher. After an evaluation by Kala at Kumon, it was clear his issue was execution around reading versus comprehension. Within one month of attending Kumon, our son received a reading award in his class. He continues in Kumon and is growing in self guided learning, dedication to learning , and especially having fun while learning.

Kumon has been the best experience we could ever imagine. We have been attending this Kumon since my daughter was in Kindergarten. She is now in 5th grade and is in advanced classes and does great in school. We know her achievement in math and reading is a direct result of our years with Kumon and Mrs.Kalas support. We recommend Kumon to all of our friends with school age children!!!
