I BEEN IN THIS HOUSE ALMOST 18 MONTHS ... I CAN EVEN GET NEW ... THEN YALL RAISIN RENT ...THEY REPAIR MY STOVE AS 20 TIMES OR MORE ... LAST I CALL OFFICE IN THE VIRGINIA BEACH , THEY WAS READY INEVICTED ME AND FAMILY FAST WHEN " RENT WAS LATE " YALL WANT MONEY BUT DON'T WANT SPEND ON TEANTS... NEVER LIVE LIKE THI IN MY LIFE ...

I have lived at the 1805 Monument (Richmond) property for 16+ months. In roughly half of that time, some alarm from somewhere else in the building has been audible inside of my apartment. Seems to be coming from the unit above me but not sure exactly where it's coming from. It seems to be tied to a building alarm which also sounds off at the same time. I have submitted 5 maintenance requests and spoken directly to 3 different members of Thalhimer management. They have repeatedly closed my maintenance requests without fixing the issue, and any fixes they have implemented have been temporary. No one has offered me an explanation as to why it's happening, where it's coming from, or what a permanent solution might be. So every couple of months this alarm goes off for days or weeks on end and, according to management, I'm just supposed to deal with it. There is much more to tell, including residents getting locked in or locked out of main entrances (in one case for almost 48 hours), elevators being down for days on end, messes and trash left by residents (and their animals) allowed to remain in public places for days, maintenance or management trying to hide the fact my dishwasher was broken when I moved in (then taking 3 months to try and fix/ultimately replace it), general lack of attention or caring when it comes to management staff, etc. - but too much to list here. For now I'll focus on the fact that I've had to endure a mysterious alarm for roughly half of the almost 500 days I've lived here, and thus far there has been bare minimum care or attention given to the problem by management or maintenance. Posting to warn others about the dangers of renting with this group. Next I'll be investigating what, if any, legal recourse I may have available. Update 9/14/2023: The alarm is gone and has been for several weeks. Im not certain but it may have something to do with the unit above me; it was unoccupied all summer and is now occupied again (I can hear every sound from their kitchen, unfortunately). Regardless I am grateful but hesitant to call this issue resolved. Ill post another update in a couple months. Update 11/17/2023: Well, I obviously spoke too soon! It's happened 4 times since my last update 2 months ago! To their credit, management is usually pretty fast (usually same day/a few hours) to address the issue, but even after 9+ incidents over the past 6+ months, there is still no indication that anyone has a plan for a permanent fix.

Update, guess these statements got me back my one hundred dollars, I had no problem with the fifty, maybe this company will react in a timely manner now. I don't hold a lot of faith on that statement though. THEIVES?!!!! Take their offering FAST or get yourself ROBBED! A mesially hundred dollars, hope you choke on it! Yes Tenesha. This is John R. Thanks for your lies! Richmond/Petersburg. I am writing this to prepare someone as I was not. Recently needed a place very fast, found an efficiency through Zillow with this company. Having never dealt with this type thing before, paid the $150.00, filled out paperwork, received a confirmation that they'll get in touch with me, well took them two weeks! Then tried to get me into a more expensive unit, granted it was a decent apartment however money and work is tight, girl I spoke with friendly to my face anyway. My unit wasn't ready? We spoke I said within the month, she says ready then contact me. Contacted me in a week or so, a couple days anyway I contacted her back, declined thinking I'm getting a hundred dollars back, then I get the 3 day speech. Take their offering FAST or get yourself ROBBED as I am. Be prepared as I was not THEIVES! Typical twist things around!!!!
