Sporting Smiles Pediatric Dentistry & Family Orthodontics

Disappointed with this practice. We have been with them for 7+ years, have had appointments every 6 months during that time. Apparently they decided to quit taking our insurance effective 1 Jan 24. We received one email notification from a person that we didn't recognize, so we assumed it was spam. Fast forward to our mid-January appts. There were no calls, no treatment plan notifications at all confirming we knew that they no longer accepted our insurance. We went to the appt as normal. The front desk asked if everything was the same, we confirmed it was and went about our day with the treatment. After, they told us we had no balance and we would be billed after they ran it through insurance. Nothing out of the ordinary..... We then received a text saying we owed a balance, so we called to pay what we assumed a few dollars, but in actuality it was $583 because they don't accept our insurance. After talking with them, they agreed to knock $200 off, which we were grateful for, but this entire situation shouldn't have happened. When asked why nobody confirmed that we understood they didn't take our insurance, or why the front desk didn't tell us when we arrived, or why we never received a call/text, we were told "that's not something that they do." This was completely avoidable, yet Sporting Smiles refused to acknowledge that it would have been appropriate to let us know at the desk, call or text. Yet in the world of spam and robo calls, after 7 years it would have been nice to receive a text or calls.... You know, just like they clearly do for appts and billing.

My kids have been going to Sporting Smiles for years now, but today was the first time ever having a procedure. Dr. K filled a cavity on my little one. Not only did she ease the nerves of an anxious mommy, but she was truly amazing with my little guy! From start to finish, our experience was great! Ms. Courtney assisted through the procedure and was on point through the entire process! Thank you both for all you do!

Sporting Smiles is the absolute best! Dr. Natasha and all of her staff are warm, caring and professional. They can put even the most nervous little ones at ease. My daughter especially enjoyed meeting Vivian! We are so grateful for Sporting Smiles!
