image Lance and the team at Iron Pig have been fantastic to work with, having provided modifications and intermediate care to my 2010 TRD Off-road Tacoma. I'm a repeat customer having had a Toytec lift, leaf springs and upper control arms integrated into my truck by the iron pig team. Their feedback and advice have helped me maintain my vehicle for hopefully many more years to come. Greatful to have worked with Lance and his team and will continue to be a loyal customer based upon my experiences with Iron Pig. Highly recommend.

image Phenomenal shop with a great team. Lance, owner, and the team at Iron Pig are dedicated and passionate about what they do. They are not your traditional bolt on parts shop. They are are able to troubleshoot complicated problems, and they are able to come up with creative solutions due to their knowledge base. They care about you the customer, and are not there to nickel and dime you. They will not tell you to do anything to your vehicle that they are not willing to do on their vehicle, and/or already have done.
They love all vehicles, BUT if you have a TLC. This is definitely the shop you should be coming to! They are the best shop around, and you will not find a better shop with a better crew that cares about you, your vehicle, and your wallet.

image In May of 2022 bought an 89' FJ62 and wanted a lift installed. I called around to several shops and most of them didn't want to work on it. The ones that did, didn't leave me feeling too warm and fuzzy about having them do the work. Then a very good friend of mine suggested that I go to these guys.
When I got to the shop I noticed that the parking lot was full of FJ's from Virginia and several other states. That told me that people will come from all around to have these guys work on their rigs.
When I met with the owner Lance, he walked me through the entire process, gave me a quote and a start date. Soon after they started the work they ran into some serious hidden rust issues with the frame. Lance stopped the work and called me to come in and go over the issues. He spent around and hour showing me what needed to be fixed immediately for safety's sake and explained in detail why. Then he showed me the issues that I needed to be aware of but could wait for a later date. I opted to have them fix all of the issues while they already had it in the shop so I didn't have to go back on the waiting list. I could not be any happier that I did. I received I have been taking my cruiser to them for going on two years now and it drives like it is brand new. I have recommended them to multiple friends of mine and they have all had the same results.
The whole team at Iron Pig is amazing! They are honest, professional, and a very hardworking group of people. If you want expert work done, look no further.

image I recently had my classic Land Cruiser worked on at Iron Pig, and my overall experience left much to be desired. The initial impression was already negative as the atmosphere at the shop was pretentious, with the staff seemingly eager to point out every flaw in my rig as if I were personally responsible for them.
One of the major issues I encountered was the recurrence of problems that I paid Iron Pig to fix. It was frustrating to shell out a significant amount of money for what turned out to be only temporary fixes. Despite their claims of using high-quality parts, I later discovered that all the "hard to find" parts used were readily available from public distributors like CityRacer, SOR, CCOT, or Toyo Dealer (OEM). This made me question the (labor) value I received for the exorbitant amount I paid, after figuring the actual cost of parts.
What struck me as particularly hypocritical was their emphasis on keeping classics "ALL Original," yet they had a backlog of SMB swaps. This inconsistency in their approach raised doubts about their commitment to authenticity. Additionally, it seemed evident that they might have junior mechanics handling and managing most projects, as the quality of work on crucial components such as the motor, transmission, steering, and exhaust was subpar at best.
In the end, I found myself having to rework many of their shortcomings, essentially undoing and redoing the repairs I had paid for. If you're willing to spend a considerable amount for maintenance and repairs that you could easily handle yourself, only to encounter the same issues later on, then Iron Pig might be for you. However, based on my experience, I won't be returning or recommending their services to anyone in my network. It's essential to consider other options that prioritize quality work and customer satisfaction.

We absolutely stand by the quality of our work, please contact us so that we can resolve whatever problem it is that you’re having. Your name does not appear in our customer database so I have no way to reach out to you - please call us at your earliest convenience so that we can take care of you. 540-361-7400It’s very important to every one of us here at Iron Pig that each customer has a good experience, I’m sorry to hear that was not the case for you. Often I find the only problem we can’t resolve is one we don’t know about. It’s important that we clarify a couple misconceptions. Absolutely no one, regardless of experience level, works on customer vehicles unsupervised and every vehicle goes through a quality inspection before leaving. We even use a torque wrench to install lug nuts. Your assessment that we use Junior mechanics is completely unfounded and misleading. We are in fact experts with regard to classic Toyotas and we share what we know. I’m sorry you felt that our evaluation process was too thorough or that we picked on your vehicle. For your benefit we try to point out all deficiencies and then focus on the most critical - safety and inspection issues before recommending fun things like locking differentials and big gnarly tires. Our customers appreciate that we take the honest approach rather than taking money for superfluous repairs. We’re not Toyota purists at all, in fact we work on all makes and models and in rare cases we do some non-Toyota engine swaps. However, sometimes the solution to a problem is not an aftermarket upgrade but restoring the original Toyota engineering that makes them so reliable in the first place. This does not mean that we think all classics must be “all original” or that owning a modified Land Cruiser is a bad thing. With regard to parts, we use only the best available within the customer’s budget. To that end we’re sometimes able to obtain water pumps, brake cylinders, Koyo bearings, etc. from the OE supplier for less than Toyota dealer prices and pass those savings on to our customers. Places like CityRacer, SOR and CCOT are quality aftermarket suppliers that we often recommend to our customers because we also shop there. You should also check out TLC, Valley Hybrids and 4x4Labs for some of our other favorites out West. If you are having a problem with a repair performed here at IPOR I sincerely hope you will contact us so that we can make it right for you.
