We had the good fortune of hiring CMI Design for a home renovation at our beach house in Corolla, NC. They started by fixing our driveway which was not draining water properly and then began a big renovation of our ground floor. Hands down the most professional company ever. We did 4 master bath remodels and it took about 3 weeks! Stunning work and best of all COMMUNICATION, like morning and night time photo updates since we arent located near our home when the work was going on. We have just concluded a two-year kitchen remodel nightmare that has ended in a miracle. After contracting with a local company, we experienced a multitude of delays, including incorrectly measured and installed cabinets, multiple orders and returns of cabinets, family illnesses that seemed to span the entire family tree, refusals to work with a new cabinet company that we selected, lack of communication for extended periods of time, aggressive arguing and finally an agreement to dissolve the contract with the project only partially complete. I contacted CMI Design Studios, owned and operated by Nadim Adams and Shahryar Rahman on a Friday afternoon. We discussed the situation in my kitchen. I provided layouts and pictures and Nadim agreed to take on our partially completed project because, in his words, You have been through enough. We will give you a beautiful kitchen in two weeks. Tuesday I was in his showroom selecting countertops and backsplashes. The following Thursday Nadim and his team of eight showed up to install the countertops at 7:30 pm. They worked until Midnight and completed all the countertops. The following week they came and worked from 11 am until 10 pm. They completed 95% of the kitchen, The next day they came back and installed the custom vent cover they had built and painted the night before. So, true to his word, Nadim and the team had my kitchen completed in two weeks. They did this while working on their already scheduled projects. The workmanship is top-notch. In addition to the work we contracted them to do, they wound up fixing wiring, reinstalling cabinet fillers for the dishwasher, replacing outlets and fixing cabinets that were not installed properly. I cannot emphasize how impressed we were with CMI. Their skills, professionalism, attention to detail and honoring their commitment is far above what we have experienced. We now have Nadim and Shah on speed dial for all our other pending projects. We know they will all be done in a quality and timely manner. Thank you, Nadim, Shah, and team for all your hard work.

I found a recommendation for CMI designs in an OBX owners group and boy am I glad that I did. I have dealt with many contractors over the years in Corolla and unfortunately most have been a bust (if they even show up!). These guys are totally different. They show up when they say theyre going to, work long days, FaceTime you and send pics daily. Even when you cant be there, youre kept in the loop and thats so important when youre hours away. Shah and Nadim are a pleasure to work with and their guys do great work while doing it quickly and efficiently. They replaced flooring for us on three levels of our home and tore out all the old hard wood. They also installed a new electric fireplace along with some shiplap to modernize the space. They will now be our go to guys for any future projects and Im so thankful I found them! If youre an OBX homeowner looking for a group or trustworthy guys that do quality work, call Shah and Nadim!
