This dentist practice was not enjoyable to visit as a kid. The hygienists were very rough and made my teeth hurt.

hey traumatized my daughter. my daughter had always been relatively to the dentist. Got regular cleanings brushed her teeth everything was fine she just liked to know what was going on inside her mouth and I don't blame her seeing all of those scary tools when you're only seven or eight go into your mouth is a very scary experience for a child well, at one point she had a cavity and needed to get it filled this was traumatizing for my daughter as they it didn't explain anything. And Her mouth clamped open for hours and didn't let her know anything that was going on after this experience because she was crying. Dr. Cook recommended that we did a sedated procedure where the parents were not allowed into the room little did I know that she would be wrapped up, unable to move, and the only reason they recommend this is her that could have some peace and quiet as they were done her teeth. Now we go to a different dentist and she's so traumatized that she sweats through Her shirt, and shakes the entire dentist chair because she's so nervous, and the dentist is relatively not a good experience for her, I'm very upset that this practice treated my child is way and gave her such an intense fear of dentist. Do not go here ever!

I have to take a moment to really praise our new dental office for the boys. They are absolutely AMAZING! They are so nice, completely kid focused and on their level. Two weeks ago our youngest (5 yo) got an abscessed tooth and had to have the tooth pulled. They did everything to make him comfortable and ensure it wasn't traumatic. At one point he felt the second injection and began to cry. They stopped everything and were so gentle and reassuring and gave him time to recover. I never felt like they were rushing him to get over it, even though they had a parking lot full of people. Afterwards, the dentist called me from home at 8pm to check and see how he was doing. They go beyond customer service to a genuine care about your child and you. I will drive an hour from here on out for everything dental for my kids. So, if you are in the Charlottesville area hands down check them out. They rock! Also, as a side note they have my approval for the steps they are taking to reduce covid exposure risks. Also, when covid started and they were forced to close they took all of their PPE supplies to UVA to help support me and my colleagues stay safe. #AmazingDentist #healthcareheros #thebestofthebest
