Update on project : 2/22/24 Old wood that was originally used to build the eaves on my back porch has since been taken down and replaced with new lumber still have a few things yet to be addressed with just over a year on this project. I will update when contractor says he's finished. Details to come still working with this contractor to get my work completed, coming up on a year next month. All monies paid and still have a rotted rafter among other aspects that they have yet to actually complete. Very little bad weather during the past year and for a job that was quoted to take less than a month to complete and they have verbally given me multiple days of completion. Yet I still am waiting. Don't get your self tied up with these people. If you do make sure you get everything in writing down to the final screw. Verbal agreements mean nothing to them. I have waited to post this till job is complete but feel bad for people getting entangled with them in the mean time. RESPONSE: Why would I post as another person then myself also discount was for items that your crew damaged and or pulled from my home and damaged when they used them without permission. Along with the fact that the previous crew was drinking on the job. The mentioned additional work that was recently done was a verbal agreement from the president of the company (hence doesn't keep his word) Old wood was used to do this additional work so I feel company didn't lose anything but less 1/4 inch boards to take to the dump. Also the crew that did "additional work" used my A/C unit as a saw horse this guy will talk his way out of anything be forewarned and see the type of person that you could be dealing with. I did use a audio recorder after several issues and inconsistences. I didn't pay my hard earned money to have a company screw me over even though that is what is going on.

I had many issues working with Commonwealth Contractors. I would not recommend. If you do decide to choose Common Wealth I would recommend recording every single verbal conversation you have and have everything written down, in explicit detail. We signed a contract for a remodel of our basement and started in September 2022. The work started fairly quick but then became stagnant for months. A little bit of work would be done here and there to maintain the job so it wouldnt be considered abandonment. It is now the end of February 2024 and its finally complete. It took roughly 17 months and the initial estimation was 3 months. There were many disagreements as to what work was to be completed and what was paid for in the initial contract. Work wasnt completed per inspiration pictures with full details of expectations from the picture. Most of the work I felt was subpar for the amount of money spent. Communication was not that great for the majority of the project. I wrote a bad review on google and was immediately bullied to take it down. The operations manager contacted me and explained some issues had arisen with personnel. I think this personnel issue could have been solved if Site Leads were managed better. It shouldnt take over a month to realize a Site Lead isnt doing his job. Unfortunately this happened to us more than once with Site Leads. I wrote a complaint to BBB and was immediately threatened with legal action by the owner. I contacted an attorney myself to see if we were within our right and if Commonwealth Contractors were within the contract. The lawyer said that Commonwealth Contractors had no case and we could actually sue them. I just wanted my damn renovation done! So I contacted BBB and told the representative he was threatening legal action over my complaint, the representative told me that the owner has no right to stop reviews ir complaints even under contract. I left the complaint up with BBB, but Luke most know people, because it was removed without my approval. Side notes: materials weren't ordered when we selected them, leaving us with last minute choices. Work wasn't double checked leading to one unit being stained the wrong color and then poorly corrected. Work is subpar. Carpet was laid before paint or near completion of project. We know have stains and paint on our new carpet, tile and stair treads. Not to mention the team rarely locked the doors behind them or turned off lights!

Dealing with Luke and his team has truly been a five star experience. They are always professional, thorough, and friendly; their designs and craftmanship are top notch; the quality of their work is never lacking. I am proud to support their business as a vendor.

They did a great job. I get so many compliments on my kitchen now. The look and the vibe. Tiling, electric, floors, perfectly level cabinets, counters/back splash. All well done! Plus, I enjoyed my conversations with so many of the team.

UPDATE: Client had existing damage on home repaired by our company at no additional cost to ensure satisfaction. Our work is held to industry standard we are happy to review with the appropriate boards. Although we have made every effort to rectify this situation professionally, Mr. W is unwilling to modify this review. We understand that a one star review can cause concern, and are happy to these and any concerns in more detail in a less public setting. ORIGINAL RESPONSE:Jason, we are disappointed in this review as it does not reflect our standards or a typical customer experience with our brand. We acknowledge our failings in delivering your service as planned and are providing discounts and additional services, free of cost, to ensure our contractual obligations are fulfilled. We dispute any claims of our teams drinking on the job and can confirm that we only use only new, high quality materials for our projects.
