Despite this facility being recommended to us by a friend, we did NOT have a great experience here! My dad had a stroke in November and had some cognitive challenges following his release from hospital. Even though he qualified for AL at a couple other facilities, Rosewood insisted on him being in Memory Care. His apartment was very nice, but most weeks we would find that he had been left in his same clothes (unbathed) for up to 6 days at a time. We started bathing/dressing him ourselves. The food was abysmal and most days was served in styrofoam containers with plasticware. I arrived on one occasion and found my father in his apartment and it was covered in dried blood. It took me an hour to discover that he had essentially cut off the tip of his toe while trying to cut his own toenails. The blood had been there for over 10 hours and I was the one that brought it to the attention of staff! At another point there was a fire on the first floor in the laundry room that set off the alarms everywhere. Evidently it was put out safely but my father experienced much anxiety when he found that he could not locate a single staff member while the alarms were sounding (and memory care patients are essentially locked in)!!! The last straw honestly was when I visited and discovered my father extremely lethargic. I could not wake him for anything. Staff seemed unaware of the situation and blamed it on the heat/allergies. We discovered later that he was being over sedated and had COVID (which WE discovered by doing a home test). The facility immediately reacted and discovered that 21 other memory care residents also tested positive for COVID and immediately went into lock down. Being out of town and being very concerned about his health, I would call to check on him. On most call attempts, I could not get through to ANYONE!! When I finally did get through I was told that my father was doing great and had no symptoms. When I explained to them that he actually had COVID and was very ill, they suddenly changed their tune! I do realize that it is important to keep people from panicking... but being lied to is an entirely different thing!!! We have since relocated him to another facility and he is in Assisted Living. The changes in the few weeks that he has been gone from Rosewood have been REMARKABLE!!! I think Rosewood was likely a wonderful facility at some point, but there is no way I could recommend it for care of a loved one currently. Moving my father out has been one of the best things that has happened to him during his recovery!!!

I wish I could give zero stars. Stay away - they just want your money! They rushed us to transfer my father in, took rent for first month, and then after he moved in decided they couldnt care for him and kicked him out but kept the money. Repeated inquiries ignored until finally they told us that they were not refunding because they have a 30 day notice period. Ludicrous as we werent the ones that decided to terminate this relationship, they were. Stay far far away and dont trust them. They just want to meet their sales targets and fill beds.

The staff and management are the key to the welcoming, comfortable living experience at RoseWood Village GREENBRIER. My 95-year old Aunt has now been living at RoseWood Greenbrier happily for 5 years. As her closest relative, Ive had extensive opportunity to witness staff-resident interactions. Residents are related to/spoken to as adults and treated with kindness and compassion, plus humor when appropriate. Staff know all the residents by name. Staff and management are always responsive to both residents and family members. The food is good, the apartments and public areas are lovely and well maintained. RoseWood Greenbrier is by far the best of the three assisted living facilities in which relatives of mine have lived. My thanks and admiration go to each staff member and to the family ownership, all of whom deserve extra recognition for their perseverance during the short staffing and extra duties that came with the pandemic.
