Dr. Dave is an absolute gem! I have four young boys and the whole staff go above and beyond. From the fun waiting room with touch screen games to the token machine after their visits, the whole office is designed to build a great experience for kids. Their text message system is easy for getting paperwork filled out on your phone before visits and the staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. We recently had an extraction outside of our usual cleanings and Dr. Dave brilliantly walked my 4 year old through the procedure without tears. We love the practice and cant recommend Dr. Dave and the team enough!

We came to Pediatric Dentistry of Burke looking for a Dentist that could take our son's fear of Dentist visits away. That is exactly what we found in Dr. Dave, his amazing assistants, and helpful staff. My son had two horrible experiences at previous Dentists and was very hesitant to even talk about dental appointments, let alone procedures. Dr. Dave welcomed us in during our first visit and helped our son find comfort and confidence in him and dentistry. This rebuilt the trust that was tarnished by previous Dentists. We needed to have a crown placed on one of his teeth, and the best path forward was to complete the procedure while my son was sedated. The process could not have been any smoother and we felt they had our sons needs as a priority throughout. In addition we had our young daughter with us and for the couple of moments we were both focusing on our son, Dr. Dave's staff talked with our daughter and kept her happy. Both before and after the procedure the staff explained what we should expect and what we should watch out for. It went great! Dr. Dave is wonderful and truly connects with his pediatric patients (and their parents) which is not easy to come by. From our son : "Dr. Dave is EPIC". We could not be happier with our decision to switch our pediatric dental care to Dr. Dave's office! THANK YOU!

ANY other dentist in the area would do a better job dealing with a child. The staff, five stars.

I was sourcing for a nearby Dentist, as my 4yo son required a dental exam for school entry. I came across Dr. Treffs page and noticed the 5 star ratings and positive reviews, and was able to secure an appointment. My first impression was the professionalism of the staff and cleanliness of the office. When I met with Dr. Treff, he was knowledgeable yet his delivery, assertive tone, firm recommendations, arrogance, and borderline aggression on treatment left me intimidated and uncomfortable as I indicated that I did not want fluoride treatment for my son. While I heard and disagreed with his professional opinion, I attempted to not take it personal, and excused his poor behavior to possibly having a bad day. When I returned for our 6 mo visit, my son had x-rays taken which showed a minor cavity between his molars, due to not flossing. Dr. Treff advised that I get this treated immediately, although my son showed no signs of distress due to the small cavity (see photo). Upon checkout, I was presented with a large bill, after insurance, one I could not afford. My husband and I agreed that we would be diligent on my sons brushing and flossing, to slow the progression of the cavity. Today, when I returned for a 6 month check up, Dr. Treff coldly greeted me and immediately asked me what my plan of care was for my son. Taken back, I asked him to elaborate, to which he sighted my sons cavity. I explained the decision that my husband and I agreed upon, of the financial strain that would remain given treatment and Dr. Treff, without thought or care, immediately responded that we should find dental care elsewhere. He indicated that because we were not seeking to fill the cavity, and that his office is a pro fluoride facility, he would not be able to see my son. He further mocked me by slowing the speed of his words, to elaborate that he was filling out a school form and that I was not seeking his recommended treatments. I felt his bedside manners were unprofessional, callous and that he was more concerned with his deep pockets rather than the actual care of his patient. IMO, a professional and empathetic Dentist would have suggested what his office COULD do in terms of a possible financial assistance plan for the cavity, or to allow the parent to have the liberty to make choices for their child in terms of the fluoride and/or cavity. Instead, we were judged and penalized as he boldly and blindly punted us to another office. Parents, please proceed with caution when entrusting your childs oral health in the hands of a Pediatric Dentist, who is bias, unilateral in thought, and unwilling to cooperate with the parent.

We were appalled at our visit today for our small son. He handled himself calmly throughout the entire cleaning with the hygienist and then Dr. Treff came in, barely acknowledged us, and when beginning the exam, grabbed my calm sons head and basically put him in a headlock and grabbed his hands. My son had been happy starting out and was hysterical upon being restrained unnecessarily. We will NEVER return to Treff and would NEVER recommend him to anyone else.

Thank you for sharing feedback regarding your experience at Pediatric Dentistry of Burke. We deeply regret that our services did not meet your expectations at the most recent visit. We absolutely agree that parents should make decisions that are in the best interest of their children when it comes to care. We also believe in the value of preventative care and treatment to avert pain and discomfort. If parents are uncomfortable with the recommendations of the doctor a second opinion should be investigated to meet the needs of the child. We are deeply sorry that you felt the conversation was “unprofessional and callous.” If there is anything we can do to assist you in the transition to another provider please reach out to us at your earliest convenience.

Thank you for sharing feedback regarding your experience at Pediatric Dentistry of Burke. We deeply regret that our services did not meet your expectations at the most recent visit. The safety and welfare of children is our highest priority. It is common for patients to be uncooperative or to not “want” to participate in exams or cleanings. This is why Pediatric Dentistry of Burke insists that parents are present during treatment to observe patient conduct and staff efforts to manage behavior. We rely on parent input and guidance prior, during, and after care to best meet the individual patient needs. “Active” restraints by staff at Pediatric Dentistry of Burke to complete care is not an option. Parents may elect to “hold” hands on the dental chair to facilitate care or in some cases transition to their lap to assist in exams or cleanings. We regret that you will no longer seek care with us and appreciate the opportunity to have provided services to you in the past.
