Helping Seniors of Virginia has been wonderful. They met with my 96 year old grandmother, who lives with us, and found the perfect match for her. The aide they sent, Khadejah, is kind, patient, and has a gentle disposition, we love her. Khadejah keeps Grandma company, plays games with her, does crafts, takes her for walks and helps her remember to eat, etc. We are very appreciative of the assistance from Helping Seniors of Virginia and are comfortable knowing Grandma is well taken care of, in our home.

Alka and her team have been wonderful in helping our mother get back on her feet after a fall at her assisted living community. All the caregivers have been very good, as far as we can tell, but we would especially like to extend our thanks to Kaneesha, LeKenya and Francine for their kindness, attentiveness, excellent notes, and above all for simply being good companions to our mom during their visits. Taking the time to engage with her in meaningful, interesting conversations -- and simply to listen -- has had a positive impact on her mood and outlook.

This company was very missing leading. They helped my elderly farther to establish Medicare benefits and to have an Aid come in to help with light cooking, laundry and errands. The Aid was 1 hour & 30 minutes late on Thursday and 1 hour late on Friday during the 1st week the service started. My father who is a Vet and on a fixed income received a hefty bill of $385 for 1 month of service. When he mentioned he does not have the funds to pay such a hefty bill he was told to pay half now and to post date a check for the 2nd half. If I am not mistaken, post dating checks is illegal. I also don't understand how they think post dating a check will fix the fact that he is on a fixed income and his monthly check goes towards his housing and basic daily needs. When I asked why the bill was so high I was told that Aetna (Medicaid) has paid their part $700 and he is responsible for the balance. Helping Seniors Of VA did say the fees for the following months will be lower ($198) because it looks like something was missed when they submitted his paper work. I asked if they could make the same adjustment on the past bill of $385 and was told they will not do retro charges. At this point I felt like they are hiding something such as they charge Medicaid for all they can get, then charge the elderly for half of what was paid by Medicaid. I will be contacting my local County Government Department of Aging to discuss my findings and see if, how they treated my elderly father should be reported to any other county/local government offices.

After his stroke five months ago, my husband finally came home to begin his long journey to recovery. Francine, Ruth, Rachel and Taneeka are the members of our onsite care team. They are professional, friendly and thorough. They have gained my husband's confidence in what we believe will take at least two years until he is fully recovered.

Helping Seniors of VA provided exceptional care for my family. They went above and beyond and didnt hesitate to provide immediate assistance that exceeded our expectations. They were calm, professional and reassuring, which helped to greatly improve our situation. Most importantly, they provided kindness and generosity in a moment where it was needed the most. I highly recommend Helping Seniors of VA to anyone who needs in home care.
