Blue Bird Day School

The director of this school is very inexperienced. I went through a horrific experience with my daughter. She was sexually assaulted at school by one of her teachers and Arlington county found the teacher guilty. Yes, you read that right. The County found the school and teacher guilty. The only reason the school is still open is because Arlington County lost the evidence (Shocking!!!!). I WARN you, please reconsider and take your precious child somewhere else. The curriculum that these teachers implement and HOW they implement it is amazing. My daughter attended for 2 years and graduated Bluebird knowing how to multiply and divide. My son is currently enrolled in the Happy Face class and recognizes "word families". To some, the school may seem strict however, the way things are conducted there, it's so flawless. It's also evident how effective the lessons are by what your child shares with you at home.

This is an amazing school. My wife and I are so impressed with this center. It is very small and from the outside it doesn't look like much but the classrooms on the inside are very clean and beautifully decorated. Our son graduated from here 2 years ago and at age 5 he was reading at a 1st grade level and doing 2 digit adding and subtracting. The teachers are amazing, very loving and caring and they provide many fun activities for the children. We now have our youngest daughter there and she cries on weekends because she wants to go to school. This is probably the best preschool around the Clarendon  area.

I went to Blue Bird back in the early 70s. Mrs. Wagent was the director , mrs. Grant was the cook, and I loved mrs Sheehan . Great memories. I still remember the strong smell of crayons when you entered. Glad to see you are still in business .

Third rate barely-accredited daycare with several recent violations and citations from Arlington County Child Protective Services (these are easily verifiable).Prospective parents should know beforehand that the management caters exclusively to Latina women- and exhibits a deep disdain and distrust for all other ethnicities.Furthermore, there are no credit card payments accepted- under any circumstances- or other flexible payment options. If you are a single parent struggling with an inequitable divorce settlement, you will be humiliated, treated with contempt- and ultimately threatened with litigation. They will identify which of the parents has more money- and side with that parent without exception- even if they know the more moneyed parent is abusing the child in question. If you so much as dare to question this practice, they will swiftly coerce you with threats of filing fraudulent CPS reports. It's terrifying.Last- but certainly not least- the women there refused to include me in my son's birthday party, due to their cultural hostility- AND he resented me on his birthday for not being present for the party they refused to notify me of.
