My experience with Catholic Charities Migration & Refugee Services in Arlington has left me with some confusion regarding their purpose and the specific demographic they aim to assist. The lack of clarity about whom they are helping and the specific services they provide has hindered my understanding of their mission and goals. While I appreciate the potential complexity of their work, a more transparent and informative approach to communicating their mission and the beneficiaries they support would greatly benefit individuals seeking to engage or support their efforts. Clearer outreach materials or public information sessions could go a long way in fostering understanding and garnering community involvement. I believe that organizations with noble causes, such as supporting migrants and refugees, can benefit immensely from transparent communication about their objectives and the impact they aim to make. This not only aids in community engagement but also builds trust and support for the valuable work they undertake. I hope Catholic Charities Migration & Refugee Services considers enhancing their communication strategies to provide a more comprehensive understanding of their mission and the positive contributions they make in the community.

I had an awful experience with this agency when my sister-in-law, arriving from Afghanistan on an SIV, was only offered assistance in spending her welcome money, with no support for housing or settlement. Despite explaining my limitations, they insisted I take full responsibility. Reporting the issue to management was futile, and the person I spoke with, Mr. Abdulaziz A. Abokor, was incredibly rude and unprofessional. It's frustrating that they exist to assist immigrants yet fail in actual resettlement support.
