Dr. Nikhil Nayak, MD | Neurosurgeon

Dr. Nayak is a complete GODSEND - he literally saved my life! When other doctors/physicians dismissed my ongoing excruciating pain, Dr. Nayak was able to diagnose my condition and set up a plan that made more than perfect sense. I was admitted the same day, was able to be monitored overnight and be provided pain management, and had the surgery scheduled the following day - I am now pain-free, and I just can't thank Dr. Nayak enough! The front staff as well as the assistants/nurses are all so friendly, kind, and welcoming - I was also able to be squeezed in for an appointment, which really never happens with a specialist; the amount of compassion and empathy that this office has is amazing. All my follow-ups have been wonderful, and the office is very responsive in answering any questions/concerns. and/or providing refills on medication(s). If you're looking for a neurosurgeon, there is only one doctor you should be trying to get an appointment with, and that's Dr. Nayak. He is extremely kind, provides a breakdown of everything, answers all your questions, has the best bedside manners, a rockstar of an expert, and has all these accolades/awards/recognitions. He is literally the BEST neurosurgeon ever. You won't regret seeing Dr. Nayak - I guarantee it!

Dr Nayak and his team are fantastic! Friendly, reassuring and very responsive to calls and scheduling changes. Im a professional musician/teacher and I am able to play guitar and teach again after a serious spinal cord injury rendered my left hand almost completely numb and useless. So grateful to Dr Nayak and everyone at the Neurosurgery Center!

When I arrived at Virginia Neurosurgeons, I was asked Why are you in a wheelchair? I replied, Because I cannot walk too much pain. The next day, Dr. Nayak performed a partial discectomy with microsurgery. Sure, there was pain and recovery from surgery, but by the middle of that night, I could walk! Over the next weeks and months, I followed his directions EXACTLY about physical therapy, walking, and what to wait to do. At an early follow-up visit I showed him a list of all the things I used to do: yoga, kayaking, hiking, backpacking, running. He said I would be able to return to everything. And I have returned to everything! This spring I hiked 700 kilometers of an ancient pilgrimage on the Island of Shikoku in Japan. With care, and after a long wait, I can load and unload my kayak from the roof of my car and paddle it on the Potomac and Chesapeake. I am so VERY grateful to Dr. Nayak for returning me to the active life that will keep me young!

Wonderful care by Dr NAYAK!!! My surgery was a success and I am healing beautifully under his guidance. Reception staff are great including Charlene and Ashley.best care by Victoria, Medical Assistant. She is a real gem and takes time to know and help patients. Dr NAYAK is a superior neurosurgeon.
