Truly, the BEST Bright Horizons in the DMV. Through our work, we use Bright Horizons for backup daycare for our four-year-old daughter. We've experience many locations in D.C. and Northern Virginia over the years. Bright Horizons at National Landing is the BEST we've experienced. Here's why:1) Staff: From the director to teachers to the front desk staff, everyone is genuinely caring, efficient, responsible and responsive. From the moment we first walked in, our daughter and us were greeted by name. Our daughter's teacher is an experience caregiver full of wisdom, empathy and knowledge about healthy child development.2) Space: It's brand new and beautifully designed with reading corners and classrooms dedicated to movement learning (dancing, etc), STEM, crafts, etc. Our daughter's particular class was set up like her Montessori school with different stations for reading, building, drawing, etc. It was well organized and spotless! 3) Class Size: Being brand new, the classes are smaller so that staff can focus on each child. My daughter's class had 4-5 four-year-olds. Because of the size, her teacher encouraged everyone to get to know each other and welcome classmates by name. 4) Schedule: Our four-year-old was engaged throughout each day there doing arts and crafts, playing on the playground outside, learning, reading and napping. They also provide healthy food and snacks throughout the day for breakfast and lunch.5) Communication: The staff communicate clearly, effectively and efficiently. Every day, we got a detailed report on what our daughter did each day from what she ate and how much, when went potty, what she played with, etc. Also, to make our daughter feel welcomed, the teacher took a photo of my with my daughter and printed it out in case she missed me. If you need a backup or full-time caregiver, consider Bright Horizons at National Landing. It's among the best care we've received for our daughter in the D.C. area. Just be careful- there's a Lidl store across the walkway with cheap mini chocolate croissants and coffee. You'll do every day!
