A wonderful and supportive community preschool truly focused on learning through play. Both of my children attended ACPS and loved their experience. We loved the cooperative model too that allowed us time in the classroom. The absolute best teachers and families.

I'm a stay-at-home Dad who loved the positive energy of this community.  The philosophy of learning through play was perfect for my children who are now top of their class in Fairfax County public schools. Cooperative preschools attract the best teachers; teachers who yell or don't genuinely love children don't want to teach with a child's parent watching them every day.  I can't say enough good things about this school.

As a former teacher myself that places a great value of on Early Childhood learning, I had very high standards for a preschool program when I began my search 4 years ago. I did hours of research, took recommendations from other moms, and attended at least 5 Open Houses at various schools. When I found Annandale Cooperative, I knew almost instantly that this was "home" for my son. This is my 4th year at the school and I cannot say enough positive things about our experience. Being NAEYC accredited is high on my list of positives, but it is so much more than that. ACPS staff and teachers are warm, welcoming, and inviting, and truly value the importance of play and emotional learning in the classroom. I have never had the goal of academic growth for my son while at preschool, as I think prek should be all about play and social skills, but he has absorbed so much and surprises me everyday with his knowledge. Finally, the sense of family and community has been so great-you really get to know the other students while cooping and seeing the other parents daily creates wonderful relationships that you can truly trust and rely on when you are in a bind. We have been so pleased with ACPS that we are sending our second son there and we thankful that we will be a part of the this community for many years to come!
