        I dined at Oak Steakhouse after booking a table two weeks prior, as I live in the UK and was visiting the USA for business purposes. On arrival, I was informed that unfortunately they had forgotten to book on their system although I had confirmation of booking. There was a party of 5, we all ordered steak and a bottle of wine. The food was nice but the service and hospitality we received was appalling!! Not long after we started eating our meal the waiter seemed to want us out of the restaurant. After 2 minutes of eating, he came along and asked us if we wanted deserts. We told him we had only just sat down and were not ready for deserts. Very abrupt and unprofessional. He then went on bring us the bill although we had not asked for this, nor had we finished out main meal. He then returned asking us how we would make payment, this was only 6 minutes into our meal!!! After feeling rushed, we told him we would pay by card, whilst we were still eating. Once we finished eating they took our plates straightaway, we decided to stay out for another 5 minutes to enjoy our wine. The waiter came back over and told us he could put can put the cork back into our wine bottle and we could take it away with us. We were left to feel very uncomfortable, considering spending over 365 dollars we would at least expect a better service!!! Rude staff!! We left to feel very uncomfortable having our food, after a long day of Business meetings this is not what we expected. This is not how working in hospitality should be. We will defiantly not be returning. Such a shame as the front of house give this place a bad reputation given the food was ok.

        A nice enough meal, nothing amazing, especially for the price. Absolutely awful service. Rude staff, made to feel rushed out on multiple occasions, our waiter even offered to bag up our wine to take home after we said we wanted to finish our drinks

        You can never go wrong with Oak. I would argue this is the best steakhouse in the DMV. Also, highly highly recommend the bar special you know the deal Sun-Thurs 5:00-6:30 at the bar only; $20 burger, fries, and draft beer. Its phenomenal. Been here many times. The oysters are great. The pork chop is the best Ive ever had. Cant say enough great things.

      Hi CA, This was probably one of the most difficult reviews I’ve ever had to read. It’s very upsetting on several levels. First, we pride ourselves the hospitality that we bring from Charleston. Second, we pride ourselves the quality of food we serve and finally, the way we handle guest issues and how we solve them before they leave. Every scenario you described is the exact opposite of what we teach. In fact, we make sure to allow extra time for our guests to enjoy their experience with us.       Hi Mathew-Thank you for taking the time to write and my apologies if you found me nosy and patronizing. I visit all the tables that come in and teach all our managers and servers to do the same. We want to ensure you are enjoying your entree and that you having a pleasnant experince with us. As far as prices, no one wishes they would drop more than us. We only use CAB Prime Beef and the freshest seafood available. We butcher in house daily to keep the prices down.
