I don't necessarily like being in front of a camera. However, at times, I need a headshot for my business. Portraits by Spencer is a professional service that comes with a personal nuance. Mr. Spencer made me feel very comfortable in the way he directed me throughout my session. I had an amazing experience getting my picture taken outside in the beautiful city of Old Towne, Virginia, which was my backdrop. I will be back for my next headshot.

I went to take a headshot here hoping for a studio with a five-star rating on Google, but I ended up terribly disappointed with the services. The studio had the worst camera and lighting setup. The photographer didn't provide any guidance on posing or smiling, he was in a rush, and sent me a photo with terrible quality. When I requested a better-quality image, despite paying extra, he insisted on more money and still provided the same low-quality picture. This experience was a complete scam, and I advise against trusting the studio's five-star reviews on Google.

As you can see from our ratings, we still stand by our rating and services and what others have shared about their experience with us. As far as your experience goes, we used the latest photography equipment, lighting, cameras and computer programs. You could review the photos as you took them and select the photo that you liked the best. You could have requested adjustments to be made at the time of services to such things as poses and lighting. In the editing process, we communicated about your concerns and made adjustments accordingly. Therefore, we are quite perplexed as to why there was such a negative review of your final product.In the photography business, there is a standard which we follow and provide the best product possible. Unfortunately, we must agree to disagree as to the experience you had at Portraits by Spencer. I recently visited him for a photoshot, and it was a complete disaster. Not only was he uncooperative, but he also seemed completely disinterested throughout the shoot. He barely gave us any direction, resulting in awkward and unflattering poses. The lighting was terrible, making everyone look washed out and dull. To top it off, the final edited photos were of poor quality, with sloppy editing and inconsistent colors. Save your money and look elsewhere for a professional photographer who actually cares about their work.

I cannot rave enough about Henry Spencer! I hate getting my picture taken and within 5 minutes of sitting in his chair at Portraits by Spencer he captured the PERFECT headshot. He is professional, amazing and relaxes you immediately. As soon as I showed the finished result to my friends they asked for his name!!

I had a WONDERFUL experience getting my professional headshots taken at Portraits by Spencer. He was highly skilled, very communicative, and patient. The photographer from his team called Alex was awesome and made my experience so fun. This team of professionals are very well organized, proactive, and treat their customers with unique care, PLUS my pictures turned out amazing so I was beyond happy. I Recommend them and I will be using their services again in the future.
