First Command Financial Advisor - Gary Sjurset

Gary has been our financial advisor for years and has always had our best interests in mind when advising us. We depend on him for his knowledge and ability to advise us on what we should be doing. He is always very responsive to our phone calls and questions. We totally trust him to handle our financial needs.

Gary is the one financial advisor Ive worked with who can explain the details of financial planning in a manner that is easy to understand and logical for planning for my future. He sincerely wants to provide the best financial advice and options without making you feel pressured. After working with him, I feel much more secure in my financial future.

Gary is amazing! Finance is not my strength but he is so patient and thoroughly explains everything at our appointments, sometimes repeatedly. I actually look forward to meeting with him which is something I can't say for the multiple previous advisors over the past 20+ years. He genuinely cares for his clients and it shows. I wouldn't go with anyone else so I guess when he retires, so do I! Thanks Gary, you are the absolute best advisor!

When Gary went through the Basic Course to become a First Command advisor I was his training officer. He struck me right away as someone who was exceptional in his integrity and his intelligence. When my son moved near his office I quickly recommended him as my son's advisor and have not regretted a moment of it. And my son concurs. Gary is an outstanding representations of the ideals or First Command.

I have been working with Gary Sjurset for the past several years to create a financial plan, and I am so grateful a friend recommended him. I had only begun full-time employment as an independent contractor a few years earlier and was just keeping everything I made in a checking account. Gary helped me set up everything from a Roth IRA to a SEP IRA to a money market account. 3 years ago, I had absolutely no idea what any of those terms even were. Because of Gary, I was able to get my finances organized and recently purchase my first home; I know I would not have been able to do that without his help. While there are a dozen reasons I would recommend working with Gary, I think my top reason would be how much time he spends with you. The first time we met for an appointment (I choose virtual meetings but he also offers in-person) after 90 minutes, he realized I was looking pretty overwhelmed and suggested we stop and meet again the following week for another session so that I had time to process everything and ask any questions I had - despite the fact that there is no fee for these meetings. He is so invested in helping me that he suggests we split meetings up into two sessions so that I am able to get the most out of them even though he is making no money doing this. Anytime I ask a question, he explains everything very clearly and has never been patronizing or condescending even when I ask questions that are probably really obvious to other people. I highly recommend meeting with Gary Sjurset it honestly changed my life. I am so grateful for how much he has helped me.
