Got a last minute spot right on the river. The wifi is worth the $7. It allowed our Roku to work. Great place and friendly and helpful staff. Really enjoyed it and would return if in the area again.

Our family has been camping here for many years & will continue to do so! We have developed friendships with many other families & love watching our kids swim, fish, kayak, ride bikes n scooters, & visit other sites who treat them as family. The sites are spacious, bathrooms are well cleaned, and it is safe & peaceful!

Now on my third visit to River's Bend. The location is absolutely perfect for me as I have family that lives in Middlebury. The sites are large with my preference being the riverside sites. With each visit, I have noticed improvements to the property. The owners are doing a great job. On this trip the owners have been particularly accommodating offering to do anything they could to assist me. I was struck head-on by a motorcycle about an hour away from the campground. Their concern demonstrates commitment to provide a great experience. River's Bend Campground is my "go to" place in Vermont. I look forward to many future visits. Minus, of course, the head-on accident part :)

I paid for my wood with my last $6 bills when I checked in just before 7pm the night before me and my 12 year old son were to volunteer at the Addison County fair the following day, 2 and a half hours from our hometown. My small, new GTI car was full, I had no room to put the wood in when I checked in. The gal at the desk was super friendly. I explained we weren't from the area and that I brought a pan and some canned goods, and that I'd need wood or suggestions of where to go for food. She said they have wood for purchase there and it was $6 for six pieces, any ones we chose. Again gave her my last six bills. We chatted a bit more than my sin an I went to find the site set up the tent and unpack the car. We went back to pick up wood. My son and I were then approached by, interrogated, and ultimately accused of trying to steal the six pieces of wood that I had purchased under half an hour prior. I explained or tried to explain we purchased the wood and it wouldn't fit with all our camping gear in my small car. The "man" said not to get lippy, to show him the receipt, which I was not gicat. and that WE were stealing. I tried to explain in tears at this point but not being from the area and not wanting my son to witness any more of the disrespect, or knowing this "man" I got scared and my son and I got in the car and went back to the site. I called and left a message on the campgrounds phone number immediately. We then had to go drive around the unfamiliar area to find an ATM and wood to purchase so we could cook on..First thing that morning I went to the office, the didnt open until checkout and we had to go volunteer. The gal called back after checkout time. They never even offered to reimburse us the $6 they stole from us. We should have at the very least been returned our $6 for the wood we never received.... Before the run in with the man, who I found out to be the OWNER I would have given 4 star rating. His greed is clearly why he has the priciest camper, best seasonal spot, boat, Atvs golfcarts etc. Someday your disrespectful and thieving ways will catch up to you.

Hello Amber,Let me respond to this with some corrections to the events as captured on security cameras.1. you checked in 6:20pm. and thank you for identifying the great interactions with her! Part of the check in is to after buying the firewood is to meet you right then as its not free and normally locked up but we had just received a delivery. As verified on camera she did inform you to stop on the way by so she could assist in the wood. When she informed you of this (at that time you didn't state your car had no room. (this often does happen and we make arrangement's for that. The driving tight past her as she was going to meet you.)) 2. I was at my site which is across the road and I asked if I could help you and also stated that the wood was not for free. you stated you had already paid for it. (this is often what's said to get out of being caught red handed. Not saying that at hat point you were but our process is straight forward as we sell every bundle in person or make arrangments and n arrangements had been past on that someone was coming up after we closed to get there bundle as is procedure. SO I aske if you had an receipt. Completely fair question as I make a living selling that. ( I don't know anyone who would allow a shorted paycheck to go uncorrected.) *** This is where things got messy. I began to explain that after hours picking up an item that is for sale looks like theft and its appropriate to question someone going through a pile unassisted.***** Before you got through explaining you became hysterical and began crying saying neverminded and left. (what you don't know is who I am and my past. With many years in EMS I've seen lots of hysteria. This interaction shows that I didn't approach you I didn't cause any sort of uncomfortable event in front of your 12 year old began at 7:24:24 and concluded at 7:25:04 30 seconds. SO I immediately went into my camper to share the events with my partner who could give me a female preceptive. We concluding that you must be stressed and I asked her to go down and visit you. (this was her verified on camera passing you on the side by side at 7:39 pm.3. So you stated we did noting to help. Now I've asked someone and a female to go see you incase there was a male interaction issue underlying here. we passed as you headed out to go to dinner coming back in at 8:32 pm.4. I went to the office to speak to the office attendant who checked you in and get her perspective. She told me of your interaction similar to yours. I asked if you seemed un easy at all. After her opinion we both listened to the voicemail where you called up accusing a "person of attacking you making you feel uncomfortable and verbally berating you"(your story is shifting from facts) We together watched the video footage to verify your story. We here at RBC can and do make mistakes however we are very open to auditing them and making things better if possible.5. After we met and audited the nights events I asked to her call you to see if there was anything we could do to make things better. Before she could inform you that its was all recorded you did again go hysterical and crying on her. by the end of that which is where you learned it was me who spoke to you that night and was the owner. Where you say we didn't do anything to correct the satiation. 1. sending someone down to meet you at your site 2. Calling to see what we could do and on the phone you said its was water under the bridge now. You also infirmed her you know lots of people and "could have left a bad review." It seams you chose to disparage us after all and identified what you think I own as justifications for your actions. I work for what I have. However their is a difference to what I own and the business owns. You want to present as honest without proof. This posting is where I see he reason to not trust is so black and white. We so all we can to make a great stay and keep the grounds pristine that takes revenue!
