First, they charge a huge dispatch fee, even for scheduled cleaning appointments- so add on $95 right away to any of their services. Their 'service professionals' will clean and service your furnace THEN test it to see if it will pass inspection. Even though I called about getting an estimate with them for a new one AND they knew the year before when they cleaned it and came for an emergency call, it was nearing the end. You'd think the request for an estimate would be a huge clue even if they had never seen my furnace before. I was hoping to get one more year from the old one but realistically, even I a non 'service professional' knew that the furnace was almost ready to retire. So, when they decommissioned my furnace AFTER cleaning it (because they tested it after, I guess this is what they do as a company, clean, then test..) I assumed the only bad news from the whole visit was that I needed a brand new furnace. Nope. Turns out I had to pay anyway for the cleaning. They gave me a discount because I begged, explaining how I now needed a whole new furnace, a huge expense for me, a working person. I even got an estimate from them for the replacement, thinking they'd want to keep my business. Bournes idea of a discount, instead of $485 for bad news I paid $320. Yep. That's a lot of money to spend on a funeral for a furnace. It was nice and clean when it went to scrap. They did let me pay in installments and only charged me a small finance charge. That was nice. Maybe if you have a lot of money, choose Bournes. I need a little more common sense in the company that is going to be in charge of my heating needs. Vermont winters are just a bit too frosty and my bank account just isn't big enough to pay for professionals who are still learning. Bye, bye Bournes.

These guys are very unprofessional. Twice they made me wait for a tank inspection and showed up late. They didn't call to tell me they wouild be late. BEWARE! If you have problems or need a fuel delivery they may keep you waiting too! I'm going with another fuel company never to revisit buying from Bourne's again.
