I scheduled an appointment about a month ago and was told yesterday that they dont accept my insurance. Instead of notifying me sooner, they waited until the week of to tell me.

the staff are so friendly and wonderful, and the glasses collection is fun, funky, and diverse. couldn't recommend more!

Popped into Chroma Optics on the way home from South End City Market to recycle a mountain of my partner's contact lens containers (because Vermont, right?) and walked out with a thorough exam thanks to a timely cancellation. My ice cream didn't even melt- talk about efficient!
Dr. Sudarsky and the crew are top-notch. The screening and exam were quick and painless. Everyone front-to-back was knowledgeable, thoughtful, and friendly - *and* had the uncanny ability to pick frames that not only fit my face but also make me look like I've kind of got my life together.
Need a screw tightened, a nose pad replaced, or lens spray refilled? They've got us covered with free maintenance.
Because of how high-end the place looks, I was initially a bit worried that I'd need to sell a kidney... but especially after some mediocre experiences at a few other area optometrists, the value is there. Chroma Optics seems to be the place to go if you're after a blend of customer service, style, and professionalism. Highly recommend!

They only sell private label glasses so if you have insurance that covers a portion of your glasses be prepared to spend hundreds over what is covered. My insurance covers up to $150 and there were no options for less than $250+. They do not put prices on their glasses as well. I also had to pay out of pocket for a test that they said insurance didnt cover. They gave no explanation if the test was optional or even necessary. I have been getting an annual exam for over 15 years and this was a disconcerting experience. First and last time going to Chroma.
