My Place Hotel-West Valley City, UT

It smells more like smoking is required, rather than disallowed. Reminds me of the way old Vegas casinos smell. I would stay at any of the other budget hotels in the immediate vicinity instead. Also, they would not give a late checkout at noon, they would until 1130. The late night staff member told me to ask the morning crew. The morning crew man said no, but offered no reason or explanation. He did say there was nothing at all I could do to get the 30 minutes. And then called the room after I hung up, waking up the other guest in the room. He denied calling, but the phone rang very loudly. I will never stay at this chain of hotels again. There are consistently better hotels at the same or lower rates.

Pretty good stay overrall, last minute booking on Expedia and the rate was very affordable! Front desk was nice and got us checked in quite quickly. Room was clean and spacious, the only complaint I have is how thin the walls are. Could here someones kids screaming at around 9am a couple hours before checkout and construction happening outside. Other than that Id stay here again.

It was super noisy. Between the heater and refrigerator, we couldn't sleep. Rooms: The rooms are sparse, cold and unwelcoming. Only chair was a desk chair. The heater and refrigerator were very noisy. Maybe for a business traveler that spends no time in the room and has ear plugs, it might be OK. Nearby activities: Maverick Center. Safety: The area around the hotel was under construction. Plenty of places to hide. Narrow parking because of it. It looks closed. Walkability: If you're in young and not disable you could walk to the Maverick Center, restaurants, and the TRAX stop. Food & drinks: There was overpriced water, soda and snacks available Ina little room by the front of desk.

I was nervous booking a hotel in West Valley, particularly one as cheap as I booked it for. I bought my husband tickets to Jeff Dunham and decided to book a hotel as well to make a night of it. When we arrived, they indicated that our single bed room had been switched to a 2 queen due to selling out for the show. Not a big deal, but still not getting what I booked and one of the reasons for a 4 star. We made our way to the third floor to drop off our stuff in our room and when we walked in, the room was super warm and smelled pretty musty, like it hadn't been used in a while, or the previous residents marinated without a shower. They should air out rooms or figure out a way to freshen it up before new residents arrive (another reason for 4). NOW with the negative comments out of the way, this Hotel was surprisingly nice!! Aside from the musty smell that cleared out with the air turned on, it was very clean with REALLY nice esthetics. The room had a functional kitchen with a 2 top stove, sink and fridge and freezer that makes ice. The closet area had a laundry basket, lots of hangers and a pull down ironing board and iron. The bathroom was fully stocked and actually really nice. The tub and shower were standard size for one person, but it's updated and nice. The blow dryer wasn't even attached to the wall!! There were plenty of towels in different sizes and travel size soap, shampoo AND conditioner!
