Does experience count? You bet it does. The builder left us with less than desirable grading with dirt that was a mixture of road gravel and cut cement with some real soil mixed in. There was little slope and I even wonder if the slope was enough to be legal. Ralph was recommended to us by several people who had experienced similar problems. He measured all the slopes around the house from various points at the foundation to points in the yard. He took time to understand what our landscaping plans were and adjusted his grading plans accordingly. In the cases where there just wasn't enough slope he offered several solutions. The end result of his work is we have a very workable grading solution that gives us a lot of flexibility in our final landscape plans. You will get everything from him that he has committed to, and then some. He is committed to the old fashioned value of a full measure of quality work.

Ralph asked me what my problem was when I called R&S Landscaping. Even though he knew he would not be able to provide the service I needed, he spent time explaining what I would need to do to resolve my problem! What an unselfish professional!

Ralph did a fantastic job on our project! Even when we threw him a few curveballs he got the job done quickly and professionally. We definitely recommend him! One thing I really appreciated is that he broke down the pricing so we knew exactly what we were paying for.

Working with Ralph last Spring 2020 was interesting. We learned a lot and now we wish we had only hired him for half of the job. We felt rushed in signing a contract to work with him without being allowed any time to review and consider his bid. He came quickly and started working but wasn't receptive to listening and adhering to our landscape blue print design plans. On his last few day at our property I was texting and calling him repeatedly asking "are you going to finish grading our back yard". He came to speak to me in person twice a reassured me that if there was an issue that it wasn't dug down far enough then he would come back and fix it without charge. Now here we are Fall of 2020 and 3 separate landscape designers all confirmed that the back yard was not graded correctly and would cost is an additional $3,000 - $4,000 to fix on top of what we had already paid to Ralph. Ralph is a nice guy and has a lot of great tips and pointers. We called him up to let him know that the back yard was not completed correctly as I had addressed with him before he left our property and he said "let me come out and get you a new bid." He claims to not remember our conversation or much of our property from April of 2020. We feel that he is refusing to let us see this new bid even after meeting in person to discuss it and after directly asking for the bid. We feel that he won't let us see the bid unless we agree to sign a contract to hire him on the spot.
