Okay, first of all, I appreciate that everything here is gluten free except the flour tortillas, and the staff was very accommodating. They took extra care that my food wouldn’t touch glutinous surfaces. The chips and queso was fantastic as well. However, their food is incredibly bland and somehow all the ingredients combined are less than the sum of their whole. I got tacos and it only comes with meat, cheese, pico, and lettuce. You have to pay extra for any salsa, which is the only thing that makes the food tolerable. Not to mention there’s a charge for sour cream and guacamole (more understandable, but still disappointing considering the already high cost for the low quality food they provide.) My problem is not with this location, but with the entire franchise. Do better Costa Vida.

Ordered a pork burrito with pinto beans with medium sauce for delivery and got a burrito with steak and black beans. Also the drink wasn’t correct.

This particular Costa Vida, on Foothill, is a regular go-to place in this neighborhood. There's often a line. I rated it four stars because their menu is good, but not exceptional. There are no signature dishes. By that I mean it's the typical assembly line of Mexican food. You on one side of the counter the preparers on the other side. What kind of meat? Beans and rice? Hot sauce? Lettuce and Pico? It's pretty standard. It compares to Cafe Rio, but maybe one notch lower. I give to give it four stars because my daughter likes it , I like it, and it's darn tolerable. My daughter usually gets chicken tacos. She is particularly fun of the house ranch dressing. Not the hot sauce. I like shredded chicken enchiladas with hot sauce. My only complaint, and I'm not sure it's a complaint, is that the staff turnover seems to be fairly high. I always like to see the same people on the other side of the counter if I go in often. It makes me think that the company is taking care of its employees. High turnover gives me second thoughts. I'd say try it for yourself and see.
