I've been a patient here for nearly 2 years and had a good experience through most of the process. My therapist retired after our last appointment though. When I came in for a follow up with the doctor for my med management today, I was informed that my appointment had been canceled because I hadn't been in for therapy. Evidently it is policy of Ascendant Behavioral Health to cancel all future appointments a client may have with all other providers in their office if any one of those previous providers happens to leave their workforce. I took time off from my job for the appointment which had been scheduled 3 months ago, but my time does not matter to Ascendant Behavioral Health, not when a potential co-pay has been missed. I cannot continue setting appointments when there is a remote possibility that my time showing up will have been wasted, costing me hours at work. Find another clinic, this one will screw you over without a second thought. ~Five/Five stars for APRN Lin Clark ~Five/Five stars for my retired therapist Carla Cotes. ~ZERO/Five stars for Ascendant Behavioral Health

We were referred to a therapist upon my child's discharge from the Hospital. I felt a bit frustrated in the initial session as the Provider had not prepped whatsoever for the session. The intake paperwork takes quite a while to complete and is very detailed. My feedback would be it may be good for the providers to read through this for a few minutes prior to meeting with clients, especially kiddos. After the session at the front desk we were then made aware that this therapist was only available every 5 weeks, again not a good fit or was the recommendation from my son's discharge. I feel that this was all a good learning opportunity for me to understand more of this process when looking for a therapist. A bit frustrated about the entire experience the front desk staff immediately stepped into assist and be of support. They worked together making some positive suggestions and even finding someone at their other clinic which was closer to our home. I want to thank Emi/Front Desk staff. She was open and heard my concerns about what I wanted to avoid going into another intake. She provided excellent customer service and is a great fit for that position. Thank you Emi.

I don't normally post a bad review, but I've never been treated the way I was today in a professional business, especially for mental health care. My niece was having problems getting a refill on her medication, and said they weren't returning her calls, etc. She was running out the next day. There was a bill that also needed to be paid and she needed a copy of it. I offered to come with her to help support her in finding out what happened, work out getting the bill paid and getting her the needed refill if possible. I just listened at first, the lady printed out the bill and then I asked if I could ask some questions with my nieces consent. I have helped advocate for other family members and know they can't give any information without the client's consent or signing a release form. The lady said she couldn't talk with me because of hippa with my niece standing there giving consent. I thought She'd print out the form if needed so my niece could sign it. We thought she could e-mail the bill to her dad to pay, but she said they also needed him to sign a form. I thought my niece only needed to sign it. Anyway, the more I tried to clarify what was needed to resolve the bill, the less willing the lady was to help us. Finally she just said for her dad to go on line to pay it. I wondered if he needed access to a patient portal or what, but she kept saying, "I can't talk to you" in front of my niece who consented to me being there. Finally we left, still not sure how to get the bill paid. We walked back in to talk with the receptionist. I though maybe she could print out the needed release form and she started to help us, but the other lady came back in and said "If you don't leave now, I will call 911". I've never had that experience, after years of helping my elderly mother, and sister and adult daughter with appointments that needed an advocate. Other medical personnel have always been courteous and helpful. This woman made it impossible to resolve something that could have been resolved pretty easily. I would never do business there simply because of her, and it seems like she is the top person running that clinic. I won't mention her name, but she is not helping their business by the way she runs things.
