High Desert Counseling

High Desert Counseling is an excellent place and program for substance abuse recovery. The quality and care of the team of people at high desert is noted and spoken about with the clients I work with. As a mental health professional I have experienced that people dont care what you know until they know you care, THIS is experienced with the team here at HD. They make sure there is a solid wrap around their clients while they are in their programs and set clients up well with resources for continued therapeutic care. These are a team of people that understand how to help someone working through addiction and wrapping immediate and longer term support around them as they go through the process of healing.

High Desert literally saved my life! They offered a safe place for me to process what was going on in my life. I learned so many things about myself, as well and safe coping skills for life on lifes terms! Their team is AMAZING! They were all so supportive of me. Highly recommend them!

I have a friend in IOP at High Desert. (I had to drop a therapist there myself due to ineffectiveness.) I was an attorney for years in St George with significant experience in drug court, addiction, and rehab. My friend came to me, frustrated because she couldn't get her assignments passed off in the program no matter what she did. I read the assignment myself. I sat down with her and took her story down and wrote it to see if I could help. My perfectly written (imho) version flunked the assignment as well. It is sad that this company takes people who are very vulnerable and at their mercy due to court orders. If they move to a different company, the court assumes the patient is "wrong" and the company is right. Instead of helping these patients find sobriety, they use the patient's insurance proceeds to pad their own wallets and pocketbooks. This should be illegal and it is definitely immoral. This is the third company in town with which I have personally interacted that does this. It is no wonder that we have so many problems with substance abuse in this town when the people who are supposed to be helping are simply in it for a money grab.
