There is one particular Case worker, of that's what his title is, that I have interested with many times over the last several years. He is a serious problem. They must not be any different or immediate supervision, review or regular integration would a real "boss" for him. Her seems like a very relaxed easy going person until your all him to meet his obligations or follow through with recent legitimate programs and services. Them he ignores you, and others. Denies that programs are still active. Claims you are no longer qualified etc. That's when he actually answers the phone. I decided to hold my tongue over the last two years until I had compiled enough facts and not just my opinion. He is lazy, ignores clients. Blows off seriously important time sensitive materials like housing vouchers inspections, programs that are in affect, he will tell you that they are no longer available to you. Ignore phone calls, emails, text msgs. And more. He shrugs of his duty, the one that pays him to work with the state, library, housing etc. He accepts the pay but understand us the clients assuming we are poor uneducated and unwilling to keep track of his denials and actually complain. Of the 4 very valid programs I qualified for, he delayed. Deferred. Denied and ignored my call making it impossible to get the help in time. I'm not the only one. Several women from the YCC have the same documentation. Experience and complaint. This small comment box is just the beginning. I don't usually complain or threaten someone s career without thoroughly seeking more info objectively. This person has used the system, owcap and clients . He is beyond lazy. He is GROSS. Incompetent, and due to lack of supervision or some sort of standard, has wasted so much money, squandered it, leaving it unused when the were sooo many in need.

This place is a godsend. They saw us through the toughest time of our lives, and then they saw us come out the other even tougher. I never doubted that my kids were taken care of. The staff and teachers care so much about the kids and the families. They got us through graduate school with 3 kids under 3 years old. They were partners in my kids' upbringing. They made sure we were always set up with everything we needed. They connected us with other community resources for financial and rent aid, food, Christmas, healthcare...you name it, they knew where to find it. My kids' teachers were so invested in our lives and our goals. I'm still friends with several of them and other staff. They pushed us towards self-sufficiency. They made sure we had the tools and skills to take care of OURSELVES, but they helped us get our feet under ourselves first. And they defended our dignity through it all. This is a great place to springboard yourself into your future.
