We started this trail at sunrise, which was a good call due to crowds. We went counter clockwise, which was a bad call due to crowds. Honestly counter clockwise is the way to do it, but hiking the devil's garden trail only to end on the landscape arch trail is like eating a delicious chocolate ice cream cone but the last bite is dog poop. You turn a corner and all of a sudden the crowd is unbelievable. Disrespectful, irreverent, loud people by the drove (a.k.a. the typical national park experience for casuals). People with steel hiking poles scratching gauges into ancient rock, to "conquer" the half mile nature walk to landscape arch. The devil's garden trail itself is excellent. Honestly one of my favorite trails in the lower 48. Lots of arches and cool fins, and the hiking itself is fun and interesting. Navigation was necessary but not difficult. Parking: Show up early or you won't get a spot. We got there before first light and there were already 10 cars Fees: Park entry fees Restrooms: Normal nasty national park toilets at trailhead.

Beautiful hiking area though the trail is moderate and has a few steep grades on sheer rock cliff, but doable by most ages. Views are breathtaking, well worth the few miles. Parking: Free parking with park entry. Restrooms: Restrooms at the trailhead.

Our group did not enjoy the hike through Devils Garden, so much so we couldn't even make it all the way. There was a ton of sand on the day we went, most likely since the sand was a little wet and sticking to shoes. It made everything so slippery, zero places to grip on the "slide" part and there is a very narrow ledge that was super slippery as well. We got stuck between the two fins and difficult areas, and it was exhausting. Very not fun experience, and wish Arches would supply some sort of hand holds.
