The administration blindsided us at 6pm the night before our kid's schedule school day, by messaging us on an app that doesn't notify you of messages, that our kid had been terminated from the program. I found out on the way in and had to completely adjust my work schedule while my husband is out of town on a work conference. The potential for termination was never brought up in our many in-person conversation. This should have at the minimum been an email, but in reality should have been a call conversation so we could have prepared. Now, our kiddo has some behavioral issues in regards to hitting (Which we have been told by them and a therapist is a normal 3 year old boy phase). The staff had been amazing at keeping us informed and working with us. However, at no point we're we ever informed that conversations about our child's termination were being held behind closed doors by admins. In fact, when asked if our kid could be terminated, we were assured by staff that wasn't a conversation being had. Everything we were told was about how we we working together, providing resource, adding an additional teacher to the class, etc. When I expressed these frustration about the lack of clear communication, I was told from Miss Desi that she was not responsible for making the decision, and then told from Savannah that they made this decision as a group. And then told they would not have a conversation with me over messaging, phone, or in person because they "we're not the person to vent my anger to". I expressed anger in a clear and direct manor and did not yell or berate any staff. However, the admins refuse to communicate with me about my irritation with this unprofessional communication. Incrediblly disappointed.

I loved the concept of merging education and play in a Montessori like setting, plus the flexibility they offer versus a traditional daycare. However after 6 classes over 6 weeks I disenrolled her - sharing our experience below. (My daughter attended 1 day/week for 2 hours) They utilize the brighwheel app which is a feature I loved. I would receive photos of my daughter during the day, updates on the activities she was doing, what she had at snack time and if she had a diaper change. The classes are separated by age group, however if a teacher doesn't show up/comes in late to work then the classes are combined. There is a policy around the amount of students per teacher and this policy seemed to go out the window during these times. We saw this twice - on one occasion I took her back home due to the absolute choas. (I was previously warned about this from 2 other parents and I wish I didn't disregard this) I liked that snacks were provided but was disappointed that I had to ask for her to receive water. After asking, I was told I could bring her water bottle in but would notice that it was never refilled. Her diapers and wipes were lost within the first few weeks. Her teacher had messaged me saying she was out when she should have had plenty left considering it they were brand new packs (25 count diapers / 900 count wipes). I offered to bring more in that day if they didn't turn up so she could have her diaper changed and did not receive a reply so she didn't not receive a diaper change that day which was disappointing. She was so excited during her first two classes but after that would not want to stay after drop off and would come running up to me crying when I would pick her up. Overall, everyone was very friendly at the Play Lab Draper location but ultimately it was not a fit for us. I hope my experience is helpful!

I cannot recommend The Play Lab more highly, our experience has been exceptional! It has been amazing to see how much our son has learned and developed since starting. It is a friendly, warm and secure environment and to top it off, he loves being there. Win for all of us! The teachers and Director are wonderful. They genuinely care about the kids, know what their needs are and guide them properly. The structure and activities keep my son stimulated and engaged. My son loves the large outdoor area and all the fun toys and activities outside. I especially love that they provide updates throughout the day with pictures and what is being covered. We are so lucky to have found The Play Lab!!

Wow! What a gem the Play Lab is! I found it fortuitously by driving by one day. I am so impressed with the quality of care the Play Lab provided for my two kids, ages 1 and 3. My daughter has a hard time when theres too much chaos but flourished here. I love the mix of structure and free play they provide making it a genuinely fun environment for kids. They provided frequent updates of my kids in pictures and also about their BMs (which I super appreciate being a mom obsessed with details like that haha). After her first day, my daughter told me how much she enjoyed being there, which is saying something given her rocky experience with day cares. I also cant wait for them to play at the Play Lab again soon!
