This is a very cool scene. It was an underwater volcano back in the Lake Bonneville days

This place is remote and you usually need a high clearance vehicle to get there. It if is dry you might get there in a car or small SUV, but if you screw up, it is 40 miles back to civilization and cell service is spotty at best!!! The Lace Curtain is a volcanic feature on the side of Pahvant Butte. There is BLM intrepretative signage explaining the geologic features of the area. THERE ARE ABSOLUTELY NO FACILITIES OF ANY KIND, no restrooms, water, picnic tables, etc. NONE, come self prepared or don't go. Check weather and road conditions beforehand, as all the roads in the area are gravel, dirt or 4wd. That being said, the main gravel road to within 6 miles of the area is a very nice, smooth, well maintained county road, suitable for all types of vehicles, but itcus still remote.
