Basil & Rose is a place very near and dear to my heart now. 3 years ago, or so, we were driving past and I saw a beautiful sign with a watering can design that said "Basil & Rose" I gasped, those are edible plants! I was not disappointed when we went in and I've loved it ever since. I've come to know the store owner Beuna quite well and she always wears plant themed clothing and is constantly trying something new to better her store and for the growth of her customers. Trying new suppliers, plants, classes, and always making her business known on social media. She's an incredible person, soft-spoken, intelligent, with a tongue-in-cheek kind of humor. You won't ever be steered wrong if you ask her opinion or knowledge on something. I'm quite proud to call her my friend. After I failed in the garden this year I finally went in for something other than seeds (which she has many amazing varieties to choose from, ones I haven't seen at other stores) and asked her about making soil for raised beds. We got the supplies from her like local manure compost and built amazingly healthy beds. She supports local businesses and Utah businesses, which I've always appreciated. Every item in the store is garden themed or for use in the garden, it stays true to the spirit of being a plant parent. Not to mention the starts I get here are always healthy and happy compared to buying from big box stores, and it's almost always uncommon or rarer plants she sells. I wish her a speedy recovery and hope that Basil & Rose opens again soon!
