I had an amazing experience with the American Fork labor and delivery team. I felt super safe and taken care of the entire time I was there. The staff is extremely attentive and supportive. If I was to ever have another baby, I would definitely go there again. The best birth experience by far.

Labor and delivery care was great from nursing staff. One nurse, Emily, was phenomenal and I truly believed saved me from having to have a C section by working so hard to reposition and help the labor progression process. She also helped make sure our baby got care the needed when she wasnt even our assigned nurse. So grateful she was our nurse on the day my baby was born!

I delivered all of my children at this hospital and always had a wonderful experience. The level of care, cleanliness, skill of staff, food quality -- I have zero complaints. Thank you, AF Intermountain L&D!

Had a terrible experience back in September When I had my daughter. It started when it was time for me to get an epidural and The anesthesiologist Kept hitting a nerve which kept making my leg move, and she very rudely kept telling me to stop moving which I couldnt control. Then she pulled the epidural needle out and then put it back in again, which I wasnt expecting so of course I moved and that caused me to have a spinal fluid leak. I didnt even have the epidural for five minutes before I began to faint and that just became an issue all night after every time the medicine would come through my blood pressure would drop. In the end, the epidural didnt even work and I stayed absolutely miserable. After they put me in the wheelchair to go to the room I would stay in I had the most excruciating headache and pain in my upper back and neck Ive ever had in my entire life and wouldnt ever wish that on my worst enemy. I was told I would need a blood patch if I wanted any relief And when they called a new anesthesiologist, he was trying to talk me out of it because he was too busy Which also upset the nurse that I had But I told him I wanted it anyways because I couldnt sit up without pain and after having a baby, theres no way I could just lay down flat all the time. it was very early in the morning, and my husband had fallen asleep on the couch he had been up for over 24 hours and that anesthesiologist yelled at him to get up and help hold me down so I wouldnt move. I also had so many rude Nurses And had I known I couldve fired a nurse I would have fired all but 3. At 2 oclock in the morning, I asked the nurse that came in with the long blonde hair When I would be able to go home and she said, I would go home with my baby if and when the pediatrician Said so. My baby was also being overfed and every time she ate, she would projectile vomit. Everyone kept asking me how much I wanted to give my baby and as a first time, mother I didnt know. I feel like thats something they should know. I also wanted to breast-feed, but I was never offered a Breast pump during my stay to help me produce more until right Before I left And they had already given my daughter so many bottles that she didnt want to latch. My birth experience gave me PTSD And Im honestly scared to ever have another baby again. I never want to have another baby at this hospital And it makes me sad because I liked my Obgyn, but he only delivers at this hospital. I did make a complaint at the hospital to whoever the woman was that comes around to ask about your experience, but its hard telling if she ever did anything about it. In the end I had to pay for the epidural and the blood patch which I still find absolutely ridiculous considering I only had to get the blood patch because the first lady Messed up and Nobody ever reached out to me to make this right or to talk to me about any of this.

The care in labor and delivery is amazing. All the doctors and nurses were so kind and so knowledgeable. They really took great care of us! In mom and baby we got the same treatment. It was amazing! The nurses there truly are so upbeat and kind; I dont know how they do it! The food is actually pretty good as well. It was easy to get in and out of the hospital and they took care very seriously. The NICU stay was more frustrating. I feel like she was unnecessarily hospitalized for the last 1/3 or so of her stay. They insisted she eat at exact times and acted like she would die if she went more than 3-4 hours without eating (even though her blood sugar and wet diapers and weight were all in check), but when she went home finally, she went back right away to eating even sometimes every 5 1/2 hours and since we just let her be and get that sleep she needed (instead of tube feeding her once the clock hits 3 hours), when she woke up she ate a much better volume and she has been gaining weight SO well. There were even times at the NICU the nurses said she was crying because she was hungry but to avoid her being off schedule they let her cry for a while before feeding her so shed eat closer to her feeding time. When we left they also told us that (after 2 weeks of not being allowed to take her home where she belongs) when we go home we arent allowed to hold our baby more than 30 minutes at a time or else the baby will never sleep on their own. We followed that rule, and looking back I regret that. Babies are humans (not robots with exact schedules) and need to bond with their parents, so they should stop telling already traumatized parents to limit holding their baby when they finally get to take them home after they already have missed so much of their childs first most precious days.
