Update: UPS Store got new owners and staff and I had to use these guys even though I was concerned about it. They are doing very well with the customer experience.
Old: Worst customer experience I've ever had. I brought an item to their facility and they offered to package it up for me and ship. Item arrived to my customer totally destroyed as it was not carefully packaged. The items being shipped were a computer and metal machine. Both items were placed loosely in the box with a single layer of bubble wrap and air pillows around. Didnt take long for the air pillows to pop and items to bang against eachother and slide around in the box during transport.
When I filed the claim I was reasonable because these things happen. But during the claims process I was misled by the UPS store on many accounts. First they told me my customer would be able to keep the package. Then UPS showed up at his door demanding the shipped items for claims. Then UPS told me he would receive the items back. But UPS kept the items as apparently that's what they do with total loss claims. I was told the claims process would take about 10 days. After awhile I would start calling for updates and was told it would be today when I hear back or tomorrow or after a couple of days.
Finnaly after weeks of calling the manager got on the line and told me to stop calling and that I was being rude to his staff. I was so put out by the conversation that I actually went to the store to make amends and shake hands. But when I arrived at the store he belittled me in front of his staff and made me apologize to one of the employees there. Admittedly I was not pleasant because of the frustration by the lack of service, but never had I made personal remarks or raised my voice at these employees as they have done to me. Completely un professional.
It was after about roughly 70 days I finnaly got my claims check after submitting the claim. If they would have just been clear/communicative from the beginning, we would have avoided much of the problems we encountered. Will never use UPS again.
