Mortgage Educators and Compliance

Well done! They took dry boring content and made it palatable. Lots of mini quizzes and repetition of important information. Definitely using Mortgage Educators for my CE classes.

I would give them one star but it wasn't 100% horrible, there are positives for sure but the negatives are pretty bad. The pros: Complete your 20hr requirement for a reasonable price, Dave Luna, the guy that is the main instructor, is great, very likable and a good teacher. The cons: Editing is horrible. Before I go into it, they recommend using Google Chrome, so I did. The audio on some videos is normal/perfect and then the very next clip will be super quiet and then the clip after that is back to being loud, fix the audio. Another audio problem is some of their "movies" or the parts where they got together and filmed something to teach you through a fun game show or skit, always had bad audio except this time it was muffled audio or really hard to decipher. Another editing thing that was really bad was Dave would be reading the prompter and then would cough or sneeze or fumble up his words or something like that, and then he would repeat the exact same sentence, and instead of them editing out the first sentence they just left both in. This happens constantly, almost every video. The last chapter is done primarily by a woman that we don't see before, and she not only fumbles the sentence but she flat out says the wrong sentence, one example is she says something like "the mortgage goes under" and then the video freezes for a millisecond and the she says "the mortgage goes over" so she says the wrong word entirely and instead of editing out the wrong sentence they leave both in and its very confusing. Again, this poor editing happens frequently and it is super unprofessional and a little concerning. The text book they provide is great, lots of information, but it is also riddled with spelling and grammatical errors, which again is super unprofessional. They used another lady to read certain texts that pop up, and she does an amazing job, BUT, they switch the lady to a different lady in chapter 4 and 5 and she does a horrible job, reads the text like a monotone robot and paraphrases certain parts. The lady I mentioned before, the one that messes up the prompter in chapter 6, also has her eyes as wide open as possible, I'm sure she is a very nice lady but she's creepy. Everyone involved in the "teaching" or instructing of this company needs to undergo some form of public speaking/interviewing training, not very camera friendly and it is a little uncomfortable. This review is pretty negative which sucks because I just finished the whole 20 hour program and feel great, but I am hoping this review will help them make the changes that they desperately need to make. Maybe they have an AI that edits/reviews their entire program or maybe they don't have anyone do it, but they either need to do all 20 hours themselves and see how bad it is and see the changes that need to get made, or in the case that its some AI that is reviewing their program, then they need a new AI. I would love to come back to MEC for my CE but until they make these changes, I can confidently say I will not be coming back.

There is a lot of study material and the content is very good. The information prepared me to take the National exam.

definietly wouldn't recommend this school. Difficult to communicate with. They don't care about the student. They make it hard to access the material
