My mother has been at Alexis-Pointe in Wimberley since May 2020. The facility is inviting, the staff friendly, helpful, and dedicated. I don't think i've ever heart a sour word from anyone there! Mom likes eating in the dining room with her friends who live there, and she enjoys walking in the courtyard and around the inside of the building. She likes the chair exercises and participates in many of the activities. None of us 'kids' live in Texas, and we are grateful that mom has a place to live where she is safe and cared for.

While looking into facilities for a loved one, I had the good fortune of meeting Katy Starr. She gave me a tour of Alexis Pointe and I was able to see an inviting environment and several residents engaged and active. She sat down with me to gather and give information. She followed up and provided additional information in a timely manner so that we could make an informed decision. Her customer service is top notch. If you are interested in Alexis Pointe I would highly recommend you talk to Katy.

If I was just reviewing the Assisted Living side of this facility, I would have given it a much higher rating. They are a lovely facility with great caregivers. However, BEWARE, If your loved one is an Alzheimer's resident, they will not necessarily keep them until "end of life" as they assured us they would do. Their website claims to "provide specialized care for ALL stages of dementia" and accommodate "two person transfer", yet as soon as my 100lb mother could not support her own body weight, and it took two caregivers to move her, they wanted me to move her out. We were told when we signed our contract, that we would never have to move our mother and that she could die there. I had a great relationship with everyone there, yet when corporate, Civitas Senior Living, decided she needed to go, there was no reasoning with them. They spent the last two months of my mothers life and time there, coming up with every kind of excuse to not keep her. It seems, based on everything I know and researched, they didn't want to hire or train additional staff to deal with someone who requires the extra care. They had the resources, licensing, and capabilities to care for her and others like her, and yet they were relentless in their efforts to remove her. Anyone who has a parent with Alzheimer's, should not use a Civitas facility and search elsewhere. If your loved one is merely assisted living, you'll be very happy with their facilities.

We arranged for my father in law to be moved here from another facility. There was ample communication between the two places leading up to his move in date. Evaluation etc. ON THE DAY of the move they inform my mother in law that that will not accept him as they cannot handle “any type of agitation “ in a patient?? Excuse me ? First and foremost , they had evaluated him and had access to his records before the move in day. Second- you are dealing with people who have dementia !!! And you can’t handle any type of agitation ? So thankful that his current home Auberge in Austin , was so helpful and exceptionally understanding .
