Update: 3/15/24 I can appreciate that the Blair House is making improvements but at $600/ night it's just not practical. We used to stay here once a year for 3 nights at $1200 for the stay. It was lovely but now it would be like getting 2 nights for the price we used to come for 3. Best of luck to you in whatever it is you're doing here but we'll be finding another place to stay which is much more reasonably priced.*** Long time return guest. We've been coming here every year since 2018 to celebrate our anniversary. But this year we noticed some rather disappointing changes. 1st we noticed there was a sign in the room with a list of prices for beer, wine and soft drinks you could order during office hours. In previous years, guests could help themselves to water or soft drinks down by the kitchen, 24 hours a day, free of charge. Next we noticed that unlike previous years where there would be a delicious complimentary dessert freshly made from the kitchen along with your choice of red or white wine to greet you upon arriving and everyday we stayed at sunset as part of the package, now the housekeeping staff leaves 2 dry prepackaged cookies and 2 Coronas in the fridge after they straighten up the room for the day. Next we noticed they have removed the green vegetation by the main house and replaced it with rocks, which is strange because part of the whole appeal of this place has always been the natural feel of the hill country woods and greenery that you're surrounded by in a quaint, hill country woods setting. In years past, and a big part of why we've been returning every year to celebrate our anniversary, it seemed this place was geared towards being a romantic, serene getaway for couples. With the wine and dessert waiting when you arrived and the exquisite chef prepared breakfasts every morning. Now the breakfasts seem to be much lower quality and the last day we were there we got eggs, sausage and room temp prepackaged waffles. This is a great change from the freshly made gourmet breakfasts we experienced in previous years. They have stopped doing Saturday night dinners, which was part of the tradition and appeal and seemingly brought in a lot of business to this place. In years past, every room seemed to be filled when we came but this year there were only 1 or 2 other guests staying here. The paintings that used to be on the walls in our room have been removed and instead there are scuff marks and empty walls where paintings used to be. The large TV in the bedroom is a nice change but we didn't watch it much because that's not what we came here for. It feels like the new owners are focused on the wrong things. I would love to see them refocus on keeping this place a romantic getaway as it has been for us for many years now. I've noticed they have raised the prices on the rooms which is understandable but not if the quality of our stay decreases, which it seems to have this year. We love this place and hope it won't change too much because then what's the point of continuing coming here?

These people act nauseatingly nice until you leave. Then they attack with the fines and try to bully you if you dare leave a bad review. It's a nice enough place but in this economy you're better off getting an air bnb where there's not people watching your every move in hopes they can catch you doing something. Can't wait to see what they come up with in their reply.
EDIT** lol. Gotta love when someone proves your point exactly right. Thanks for the reply Blair House, stay classy

Edit to original review- This place wants you to believe they are a reputable resort. Unfortunately I found out they were not. Eli, a glorified bellboy, assured me that smoking outside of the room was ok. I smoked on the porch and made sure to clean up after myself. After the maid came by to tidy up the room, she left a tray too close to the fireplace. When we turned the fireplace on, it caught fire. We put the small fire out and left tray outside the room. Within minutes, I noticed over $1600 dollars in charges added to my bill. When I questioned Eli about the charges he provided no answers other than an accusation that I had smoked in the room and was being charged for damages. I told him to call his boss so I could speak to her. Additionally, I told him that I was very upset and would be coming back to his office every 10 minutes until I received a better answer or was contacted by his boss. I never spoke with his boss because they decided to call the police and have my wife and I escorted off the property! I have contacted my bank for for a $1600 refund for the fraudulent charges to my account. Additionally, I will be contacting my lawyer and seeking other actions to take against this so called resort. Bottom line, if you want to overpay for a resort this is the place. Quite honestly you would be better off in a Motel 6.
Edited again due to continued lies and false allegations
And the lies keep coming. Whatever makes you sleep at night.
Safety: Walk ways were well lit.
Food & drinks: Food was acceptable but not the quality I would expect of a resort that charges over $500 a night. Breakfast was the only food available. It was palatable but not outstanding.
Noteworthy details: The room was wonderful. The grounds were nice, but need improvement. The pool is old and in sad shape - same for the antiquated jacuzzi. No shuttle service is offered. If you come here without a car you are screwed.

We loved our weekend stay at Blair House Inn! The staff was so welcoming, the breakfast and picnic basket were excellent, and the property was beautiful. We enjoyed our turndown service every evening, and we had an amazing experience at the spa. We also loved the whirlpool tubs in the rooms. Overall this was the perfect place to stay for a romantic weekend away.
