Based on their menu prices and some online photos I thought Pelicans wouldve been a really good restaurant but I was left a bit disappointed. Upon arriving I noticed they had plenty of parking and that it mustve been busy based on the availability of spots. Once inside, it did seem very busy but its because its pretty tight up front which is where their bar is. The bar has very little seating but Im assuming theyre better known for their table service. I ordered a whiskey sour which was just made with sour mix and whiskey, I wasnt expecting anything fancy but considering they have pappys, just using sour mix and a regular cherry and not making it with egg whites is a disservice. The bread provided was as hard as a baseball bat and was more like a long cracker. I had some raw oysters which were pretty tasteless and extra slimy. For my entree I had the filet with a loaded baked potato. The filet was pretty tasty and cooked to the perfect temp but the potato didnt even have the cheese melted. For a place that has $40/$50+ steaks I expected a bit more. Staff was friendly and casual but couldve been a bit more attentive.

Amazing dining experience! Stopped here for the first time last night and this place lives up to it's reputation. The food was amazing, the service was spectacular and the ambience was outstanding. Their wine selection is top notch. I would recommend a reservation, but we were seated as soon as we walked in-but it was a Tuesday night. In spite of it being a Tuesday night, the place was 90% full. The menu online was the menu in the restaurant. They have daily specials that aren't on the menu as well. Dietary restrictions: Plenty of options to choose from! Parking: plenty of parking Kid-friendliness: even though they have a full bar and plenty of wine, you can certainly dine here with your entire family Wheelchair accessibility: easy single story access with handicap spots right by the door

Before I critique anything I'll say this. Pelicans has the best steak in town. Now, the reason it isn't 5 stars comes down to the prices. I ordered a the 16oz ribeye. It came out correctly cooked, and the steak itself was adequately seasoned. The fat could have been rendered a little more, but overall it was tasty. While it was certainly well above average, it just fell a little short of what I would expect a near 50 dollar steak to be. For some of the other things that I was served. The bread was excellent, the fried mushrooms were exceptional, and the salad was certainly a cut above what most restaurants in town serve. Even the drinks didn't skimp on the alcohol during happy hour. My server was also attentive; i never went to long without her checking in. Overall the only issue I have with this establishment is the price is just a hair high for the quality. I dont think it's unfair to want near perfection from your main entree when you are paying as much as they ask. That being said you won't find a better steak dinner in town, and I certainly look forward to coming back again.

Thank you for taking the time to give us a review. We work hard to make sure very guest leaves happy. Our sour mix does contain egg whites, but we do not make the mix to order for every drink. Our 21-day aged, Angus steaks are one of our most popular menu items. It is good to hear they got that right for you. If you decide to visit again, please do not hesitate to let a manager know if you are dissatisfied with anything during your visit.

Thank you so much for the great review, Dustin. We are proud to offer the best steak in the area by offering 21-day aged, Angus, Hand-cut steaks. We think they are comparable to many fine steaks houses in the DFW area. The difference is that most of the steakhouses are ala carte while our steak prices include hot bread, roasted garlic, bottomless salad and a side like a loaded baked potato. Thank you so much for visiting. We hope to see you soon!
