Baylor Scott & White Family Medical Center - Waxahachie

Dr. Ramos is great and so is her medical assistant. But the front staff is just ridiculous. They do not even try to look professional at all, and were talking about how sick they are right in front of all of the patients. I checked in at my requested time then they decided to call me to the window when they wanted to start checking me in. So I sat there for 15 minutes doing nothing then got checked in. They dont smile or even try to welcome you. I wish it was a little more of a doctor office feel than it feeling like youre walking into an ER where no one knows who you are and you have to explain everything to every person you meet.

It is absolutely such a hassle anytime I have tried to make an appointment and their check in process. Their app shows one thing and the software they use doesnt match it.

I was told they called my insurance (Baylor Scott and White insurance ) to find out how much of my visit would be covered for my well check. They told me the Insurance company told them they wouldnt pay anything until I meet my deductible. The visit would cost $295. I called the insurance company and they said that wasnt true that they encouraged me to go to the doctor for my well check and it doesnt fall under the detective requirement. I dont know whats going on at this place but theyre either are not trained or theyre lazy. They didnt bother to tell me the cost until day of when it showed up in the Portal So I had to wait six weeks and then cancel my appointment date of. Also in the midst of that time they scheduled me with the wrong dr. at the clinic thats not covered under my insurance so they had to reschedule me.

I have called four times today to set up a new patient exam with a female PCP Doctor that both my insurance website and this BSW website states they ARE accepting new patients, only to be told they are NOT and that the websites "haven't been updated in a really long time". I finally asked on my fourth and final call to please give me the names of any female doctors who actually ARE accepting new patients so I do not waste any more time reading through doctors profiles on both websites, as I had been searching all day. I was informed BSW in the entire area of Waxahachie/Midlothian/Mansfield, etc. have ZERO female doctors accepting new patients. What a joke. This is supposed to be a huge network of providers and to say I am disappointed is an understatement. My husband is a patient of a male doctor of this network and has been for a couple of years for physicals and recently for the first time became sick but was told no doctor in the whole network of our locations could see him for over a week and that instead he needed to find an urgent care to be seen. What's the point of being an established patient if you can't be seen the day you wake up sick?? Obviously that is not something you plan and can schedule an appointment for in advance. So yes I was already hesitant to try and find a doctor with the BSW network but in this area it's the only doctors my insurance shows to have in network. I will be searching into the north Dallas area now but it will NOT be with Baylor Scott & White and my husband will not be returning either. This network is horrible with showing compassion when someone is sick along with updating their websites to avoid people wasting hours searching for the right fit doctor, when they actually do not offer any. Very disappointed and I hope this review helps to steer others away. We need more private practices in this area.
