Orthopedics & Sports Medicine - Baylor St. Luke's Medical Group (St. Luke's Way) - The Woodlands, TX

This is the worst staff and service I have ever experienced. I have a PPO plan, with this team as a preferred provider, and they were not only sarcastic and terrible to work with on the phone. They refused to take the time to understand my condition and what needed to happen. Then provided a timeline of three weeks to be seen despite my condition being an emergency and preventing me from being able to walk. Save yourself the time and energy and go somewhere else.

I tried setting up an appointment with Dr. David Navid and I was denied services. I am Disabled Veteran and have CHAMPVA insurance for my family. My daughter needs Medical Attention and I was told that CHAMPVA is not a primary. I contacted CHAMPVA and it can be used as primary insurance. The representative stated that I needed to pay cash or have another Insurance. It is unfortunate that my daughter was denied services because we did not have 2 separate health insurances or had to pay cash when we have CHAMPVA.

At the beginning I was impressed with the office, Dr. Navid and the office staff. After this follow up appointment, I realize I was very mistaken. Pre op was great and surgery went very well. But about six weeks postop I started having some new pain, swelling and bruising. I went in and was evaluated, repeatedly being brushed off. I even heard numerous staff members talking in the hallway regarding my care saying that my foot only hurt because I walked on it. My doctor later came in to inform me that the bruising on my foot was not normal and NOT related to walking on it. I asked for a 10 day supply of pain medication due to the new pain. Even proved to them that I hadnt used all my medication that they prescribed me six weeks ago. After a lot of back-and-forth and having to advocate for myself, I was finally prescribed some tramadol. This was much appreciated, and I felt like I was being taken seriously. That is until one of the medical assistants, Brian,(who is NOT involved in my care, and is not one of my care providers) started discussing with the other employees in front of myself and patients that I cant be asking for pain medications because I know the narcotics agreement that I signed and that I didnt need any more medication. I asked Bryan to explain to me where, in my narcotics policy that I was overreaching, he was unable to show me that. I then spoke with the office manager, Kim, to discuss the way I was treated when dealing with pain management, as well as the unprofessional conduct of her medical assistant. I also asked why a healthcare provider thats not involved in my care is discussing my care. I was met with multiple excuses, I dont knows and I wasnt theres. I was then told repeatedly that its normal for a healthcare provider thats not involved in your care to be discussing you, even though under my assumption as a healthcare provider, this is a HIPAA violation. I then asked who would be the next in line that I could make a report to and Kim refused to give me a name or phone number. Overall, you can find a surgeon who can perform surgery all day long in Houston. But to find a clinic that actually treats you well afterwards thats the hard part and this is not the clinic for that.
