Im so glad Im not the only one who has had an unpleasant experience. I waited almost an hour after I was called to the back to see Dr. Piper, our interaction lasted maybe 10 minutes. When he finished, he was stepping out and before he closed the door I asked if I was suppose to stay in the room to wait for a nurse and he said no just come with me. I stood at the counter not knowing what was happening, he then approached a PA and they walked off, and the ladies behind the counter asked me if they could help. At that point I was so frustrated and unhappy with the lack of organization. I said I dont know, Dr. Piper sent me here, in my mind I was waiting for them to send me to get blood drawn, but they didnt. I then asked if they needed blood work since I was a first time patient, they checked the system and they said Dr. Piper hadnt requested any, and they too said he usually does but hes been so busy. Again, mind blown at the point. The ladies then tried messaging him because at that point he was in another room with the PA, so I had to wait, the nurses were so confused and probably embarrassed that they had to figure out what to do. The ladies tried taking matter into their own hands and were trying to figure out what labs he usually requests because he wasnt responding to their message. All in all, that scenario spoke volumes. Poor customer service, lack of communication and organization, and due to a study Im doing, he is the only Endocrinologist they work with. I had high hopes since he has 4 stars. At this point, Ive learned that the raitings are never accurate.

I could never even get a live person on the phone. I don't text to communicate with health concerns or to even make an appt. If you cant have live people speak to patients to make an appt I can only imagine how difficult it will be to get medical care or get test results etc. Reviews are here for a reason..to help people decide whether or not to use this provider. There are lots of bad reviews. I think the doctors need to read them and change the way this practice is being conducted

Piper is an egotistical terrible physician . Desperately needed him or his office to contact the hospital I was in for 45 days and not a peep .

DO NOT GO TO THIS DR!!! I was recommended by the hospital to see Dr Piper because I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. One of the worst diseases I have experienced. He never educated me on my disease and told me to take medicine. I asked him if I needed to take my beta blocker for my racing heart. He said only if you want to, its up to me. He never once told me if I decided not to take it I could have a heart attack. He never told me to stay away certain foods with high iodine. He said try this dosage, it may not help and might help. I left out of his office feeling hopeless and confused. He never ran any test to determine the cause of my hyperthyroidism. He never tested for nodules. I found the BEST endocrinologist in Houston. He ran all the necessary test and now my levels are normal. Dealing with Dr Piper makes me appreciate the endocrinologist I have now.

I recently accompanied my 77-year-old mother, who has been managing diabetes for the past decade, to a new endocrinologist, Dr. Piper, following her recent 10-day hospitalization due to diabetic ketoacidosis. I have typically experienced welcoming and supportive interactions with my parents' doctors, understanding the role I play as a caregiver. Despite the initial encounter with Dr. Piper during my mother's hospital stay, I later learned he was not her assigned doctor for the duration. During our office visit, Dr. Piper's bedside manner appeared unprofessional and prescription-oriented. I attempted to provide information on my mother's insulin administration, only to be met with an unwarranted reaction when I spoke with my hands, a habit from my ten years as a teacher. Unlike previous doctors, Dr. Piper did not exhibit the expected concern or engagement. He failed to discuss essential aspects listed in the initial questionnaire, such as falls, dizziness, or stability issues. When my mother mentioned itching and a recent UTI, Dr. Piper dismissed them as potential reactions to something else, showing a lack of concern. What was particularly disheartening was the absence of any discussion on nutrition or daily activity, crucial elements in managing diabetes. Dr. Piper recommended changes to my mother's medication regimen without adequately addressing my concerns about potential side effects or the recent hospitalization. As a caregiver, I seek comprehensive care that considers my mother's overall well-being, aiming to minimize reliance on medications. Unfortunately, Dr. Piper's approach seemed more focused on prescriptions than on a holistic plan that aligns with my mother's health goals. In conclusion, I believe there's room for improvement in the overall patient care experience provided by Dr. Piper. I hope for a more collaborative and patient-centered approach that takes into account not only the medical aspects but also nutrition and lifestyle, ultimately contributing to my mother's well-being.
