They manage an apartment community in Bryan, TX. The company uses a screening service, RealPage, that is discriminatory. RealPage does not have a way to screen ppl who have just 1 name (I am 1 of less than 150 ppl in the US). RealPage will only screen ppl that have a first AND last name, thus discriminating against ones like myself.
The management team on property reached out to Cypressbrook's cooperate offices and no accommodations would be made such as using my rental history of the last 10 years.
The answer was merely, RealPage is our screening service, and if you don't have a first and last name, too bad.

Cypressbrook discriminated against my neighbor, BethAnne, who also listed a review of Cypressbrook. BethAnne and myself decided to get an 2 bedroom apartment at Fifteen12 apartments(managed by Cypressbrook), Bryan, TX. Now, BethAnne has the disability of having only one name "BethAnne" through no fault of her own. Cypressbrook uses a system called RealPage to run checks on applicants. The RealPage system would not process the application from BethAnne when the name was entered. The staff at Fifteen12 asked their headquarters, Cypressbrook, to allow a different way of running a verification on BethAnne. Cypressbrook refused so we were denied being able to rent at Fifteen12 due to the discrimination of Cypressbrook. Due to BethAnnes singular name the Federal Government had to change their computer system to allow the one name and she was told that due to this unique name, it should go in the surname entry on documents and computers. BethAnne did produce her Texas Driver's license to prove she only has one name and also listed her complete dated of birth. I contacted the management of the Apartments where BethAnne has been living the last five years and they said Fifteen12 had contacted that apartment complex, West University Gardens, and Fifteen12 was provided a good rental record. Since BethAnne was rejected, that two bedroom apartment was more than I needed, alone, so I went elsewhere for my move as no attempt had been made by Fifteen12 to run my name...I consider this serious discrimination in housing. I might point out that I googled Cypressbrook and every one of their websites came up that the websites appeared to contain Trojans!
