Best Western Beachside Inn

The rooms are in need of a refresh. It looked as if they have not maintained them for some time. Walls are all scratched up, furniture shows signs of years of use. Lamps have rust. Mold and mildew on bathroom walls. Staff was friendly and breakfast was basic but decent. Many people got their cars towed from the parking lot, this place means business so under no circumstances should you remove your parking pass from your dash. I had read this before our stay so thankfully this didn't happen to us but every night they towed cars. It was kinda sad, some people had just finished unloading their luggage and bam car towed. We gave a ride to one family who's car was towed after they drove 30hours to SPI. Nearby activities: Lots of shops, turtle inc, beach is walkable or can drive down the road and pay to use a road. Food & drinks: Lots of places to eat. Can get to go and eat by the pool.

For a basic hotel it will meet all of your expectations. Easy walk to the beach. Comfortable room.

Breakfast was good place was clean and even laundry facilities were clean. Only suggestion would be heated pool. Walkability: Quick walk to the beach

We visited South Padre Island for the first time and stayed at the Best Western. This is an OK location it is located in the middle of the block from the beach side but you have to walk a good distance to the beach, but you are very close to the main road and restaurants and shops are within walking distance.. The view on your room is not that great. There are old rundown apartment buildings across the street and a vacant lot in the back of the hotel. Our room was right above the dining area, so it was difficult to sleep in in the morning because we could hear the chairs moving and people talking, and it was right by the elevator and near the Laundry area. As for the room itself, it was OK. The bathroom was a nice size, but there were Signs of wear and tear, which is the wallpaper coming off in the mirror in the bathroom, and there is a pad by the window that rested on the air-conditioning it was very worn. We were in a king room. It was on small. Housekeeping is offered every other day, so we asked for clean towels, and they brought them up to us They did offer a lot channels on the TV which was nice, Especially since it rained two days while we were there, it rained really hard all day! The breakfast food was average they had the typical cold food items, cereal and yogurt. The hot items were bacon or sausage one or the other. You can make your own waffles also they had mini egg and cheese omelettes. They also had toast, bagels and fruit. It was nice to have The breakfast option, if you did not want to go out to eat at a restaurant. There was on site parking it was strictly enforced, That seem to be the case everywhere on the island. You definitely have to have a parking pass Especially in the hotel parking lots. I feel that there may be an issue on the island with people parking Anywhere so parking is strictly enforced. Next time I visit the island, I probably will stay somewhere else check out some other lodging locations on the island.
