Urology San Antonio (Medical Center)

I have been a patient of Urology San Antonio for over 10 years and have had great experiences at every yearly appointment. The staff are always courteous and helpful, and my doctor, Dr. Cantrill, is always attentive and very professional. I highly recommend Urology San Antonio to anyone needing their services.

Excellent 1st time visit to Urology San Antonio @ Medical Center. Heather Bridgeford (MSN,RN, FNO) was thorough and explained a treatment plan that included medication (gave me a months worth of samples) & recommended physical therapy for pelvic strengthening. Follow up in a month. The front office staff was friendly & efficient. Appointment was very comfortable. Highly recommend this group.

**edit We were contacted by Gilbert. He was AWESOME. He quickly and professionally spoke with my husband. I think the issue may be the one call center person, and I stand by her being less than helpful. However, the attention to the actual issue, the follow up about the call issue, and the AWESOME Ms. Elizabeth at the front desk are the standouts. Every business has people that have bad days. I will e ven give this one that answered our call the benefit of the doubt. The care here is good...and I do believe Gilbert is addressing the issue we experienced. We would still recommend these providers to friends. If I could give a "0" I would. After multiple calls and being on hold a total of over 2 hours with multiple attempts to reach a human, Griselda answered. Oh my! What an awful, frustrating experience. We were told "you already have a scheduled appointment " - however the problem and a post surgical open wound was described. She made zero effort to contact a provider. She repeatedly just said "there is no room in the schedule "...It was awful. My husband and I drove over an hour to be able to speak with the provider - and guess what? There WAS a problem and she had never even contacted the office. We love Hofer n Christianson... but this is an awful setup. Some people should not be in customer service!

This is by far the worst medical practice I have ever encountered. They have no problem contacting you multiple times to confirm and schedule future appointments and procedures where they will be able to make more money. However, if you want or need any explanation about the results of prior tests or procedures, you will have to call them multiple times only to get the most minimal and unhelpful response. I paid in full, and in advance, for a CT Scan. After the urologist canceled my subsequent appointment with less than two hours notice, I had to call the office at least twice to try to get the results of the scan. When I was transferred to a nurse practitioner, I got an extremely brief response. However, that same day, their office called me several times to schedule another procedure when nobody had provided me with a sufficient explanation whether it was even going to be necessary. Having no more faith in Urology San Antonio, I sent them a certified letter requesting a copy of my CT Scan and/or a summary of the findings. In accordance with the Texas Medical Practices Act, they had 15 days to provide me with my medical information. More than three weeks have passed since they received my certified letter and signed the green card upon its receipt. Thus far, I have received no communication or copies from Urology San Antonio whatsoever. My next action will be to file a complaint with the Texas Medical Board and then possibly speak with a medical malpractice attorney. If you have options about which urology practice you can go to for medical care, choose one other than Urology San Antonio. The primary focus here seems to be on generating income rather than providing any meaningful or effective medical care.
