image My husband and I just brought home our fifth baby last week. He was born at 28.1 and we spent 47 days in the NICU this time around. This was our third time with a preemie at CHoSA, our two older girls were born at 34 and the other born at 31 weeks. I cant say enough good things about this hospital. Not only did they provide the best care each time to my babies, but having the RMHC located in the hospital gave me a comfortable place to stay that made being away from my family a little easier. And let me say, a little goes a LONG way while in the hospital. I would recommend their NICU again and again to anyone. I was so shocked to have some of the nurses, who care for their fair share of babies in a year, to remember my youngest daughter who was there in 2021. Most of the nurses we had, with the exception of one or two, truly try to build a relationship with you and your baby. They whole heartedly have a passion for it and it shows! I am forever grateful for CHoSA, and how well they cared for my kids. Here are some photos of our NICU babies who spent time there from 2018 to this year!

image Back in 2006, I had a heart surgery. People who helped me were Dr. Richard E. Lowe, and his wife. I lost contact with them, and I want to get in touch with them once again to plead my gratitude. How can I contact them? Are there any email addresses? I don't live in the U.S so I can't contact them via phone. Thanks

image If you want your child to survive do NOT come here. The Residents think they know everything and you cant get REAL dr instead of a student if you were lying on the floor coding. Rule #1 a parent who loves their child will ALWAYS know their child better than you. I dont care if you have 8yrs of education and 3yrs of additional training the parent knows their child and every child is different. This hospital gets away with treating people the way they do because many parents do not know things can and are different. I am trained in medicine and I also am the mother of a child with a rare chromosome disorder most of your residents have never heard of. So when my normal child gets ill I know how proper medical care should be provided and yours is sub par. No matter how great your nurses are your awesome child life department is if you have bad doctors you will never provide the care kids of San Antonio deserve

image I came here with my son on Friday for urgent tooth extraction. We were quickly put into a room while they assessed what and how to proceed. This part was excellent. The dentist were very kind to us both.
After the procedure, they provided me with a small document and it said to reach back out if we had any concerns or things got worse, but there was no number to contact. It was also mentioned that he had an infection due to the cavities in the teeth they were extracting, but no antibiotics were given that day and after the procedure. Fast forward to Sunday, my son then became very feverish, jaw was still hurting so I called the hospital to inquire about antibiotics and if they could provide me with a number to call in reference to this document I was provided with. They said the only thing they could do is have me come back in and pay for another ER visit and have my son evaluated again so we can get the antibiotics. They said they could not call the dentist that saw my son and that he would just have to go in again. I feel this could have been avoided and we could have especially been treated with a little human decency considering we were there already and this is a somewhat negligent oversight.
We had to take him to urgent care instead since none of the ER staff could relay the basic fee it would be to take him back to the ER. I understand this varies and people could incur additional cost based off the services provided, however there wasnt any information they could provide in terms of just a preliminary fee issued prior to service.
I hope this reaches the right people. This was not a pleasant experience and were just looking for help. People should try doing that at the very least.
